Hey guys,

I'd like to know what kind of experiences you've had with the upgrades fro Action Army on APS2 guns, namely the UTG Type 96. I could use feedback on everything in the cylinder (piston, springs, guides, cylinder) pretty much.

I bought a stock UTG Type 96 and I keep seeing Action Army upgrades on the online shops, but I never see any reviews on them here.

I appreciate anything you can give me!

I know I was offering what I knew via PM, but thought I might as well add that Action Army parts are great for the price. On top of that, their customer service is outstanding. I have personally ordered parts straight from them due to the piston I needed not being available without coming with a trigger unit via other online stores. They responded fast and let me customize my order. Was able to do this in a couple of days, which was very nice.

While my experience with Action Army is relative to the VSR 10 series, I will say that the parts are very durable for the price and are of great quality. They are clones of the laylax parts, with a few improvements. You should have nothing but good experience with them.

Another plus is that if you do go with some laylax parts, you can mix the Action Army ones in with it. I run a variety of both and have had no issues.

Good luck with your purchase, and feel free to share a complete part list so others can help you critique it.

Great. I haven't decided how much of the cylinder I'm actually going to replace, but when I figure all that out, I'll slap the list up here and see what you think of it. I've already gone ahead and ordered an Angel Custom barrel and hop-up, and I'll at least try those on and hopefully they'll be pretty good.

I've been working on a APS2 L96. I have the AA zero trigger, Piston, 150% spring and bucking. It shoots great. I mean really far and straight.

Anyhow, I have had some issues with the trigger and piston. For some reason, the aftermarket Pistons I have are slightly shorter than stock pistons. It's the same with my Well and UTG. I've had some trouble getting the piston to catch. I've added a quarter inch sorbo which seems to have done the trick.

The second issue I've had is slam firing. It's not slam firing because of a worn out sear. It's that the trigger is slightly loose and extremely sensitive. It makes my rifle highly unsafe. You literally cannot chamber the bb until you are in position. Any nudge could fire the gun. I have adjusted the screw in the back of the trigger to make the trigger pull less sensitive. It just doesn't work enough.

Just my experience and 2 cents. I'm still extremely happy with the performance of my rifle and AA parts. I may need to take apart the trigger no examine it at some point.

You better not set your hopes high with the Angel Custom Parts you ordered... They have a bad rep here. I had a AC 480mm 6.01 Tbb for my Vsr and it wasn't as good as the stock barrel...

The barrel quality I could understand, although these upgrades look really nice, but the hop-up seems to be a clone of PDI. The cylinder system probably will be as well; it seems like Angel Custom just ripped off those designs.
