Has anybody ever had to replace them like.. Is this a thing ya have to do.

Reason I ask is I'm. Not having great results.

I have AA hop with ML Auto bot Diamond one, 75 I think. It's pink.

Getting a double feed when the mag is full and a large swerve to the right after about 40m.

The rr retainers are pretty badly worn, it looks like the cylinder head has been eating away at it.

It's used btw, I have o lyrics just got it off the previous owner

The BB retainers are sacrificial, so yes they do need to be replaced every once in a while. This would be the cause of double feeds. The curving is due to a misalignment or poor quality something, either the barrel you are using or the bbs.

I am also assuming you are using the ML nub with it. You may want to check and make sure it does not catch on the window. One of the builds I just did required a little modification to the window. (Talking like 5 swipes per side with a file, nothing major like a TDC.)

Sweet thanks, I have just ordered some new retainers now and will for them when they arrive.

Yeah the barrel is pretty poor quality. It's just stock brass but highly polished and waxed. In terms of bb's, it was just 0.3g king arms ones I had lying around (waiting on a delivery of bls). These will both be updated shortly.

Thanks very much bud, you are all very helpful 👍

Hay guys, me again 😓😃

This time I have few questions about hop adjustment.
So far I am on to my second hop adjustment screw as I have rounded the head on both while adjusting the hop for 0.43 longbows. It very frustrating. Now, I am aware of skeee's 3D printed AA TDC mod kit, but I'm wondering I'd there is a DIY guide you know of that I can't find? Only reason is, delivery is 8 days and I'm going for a 48hr event in 5 days...

Failing that, is there a specific and exact size Alan key you know fits perfectly in the AA hop adjustment hex head?

Thanks guys

Allen keys, that's my deal. I don't know what size as I don't own an AA chamber but a word of advice:

There are two sets of Allen keys, metric and standard. a lot of people go buy a set of standard and expect them to work for metric. They sort of fit but crank too hard and you will strip your key or screw head.

Torx bits are a whole nother world. I believe there is also a standard and metric for them as well. Just give it a search on amazon they have everything.

2mm is the size you need. If you have an older allen with rounded edges, it will accelerate the rounding out of your screw. The better the wrench, the less likely you are to have the issue.

Yes I understand that, just made me chuckle is all.

Here in the U.K. we measure things in millimetres, centimetres, metres, kilometres, so I guess that would be referred to as our standard.

..........That is until you travel somewhere, then we measure in miles. Because, why not!?

I searched on this thread regarding the AA hop up chamber stoppers. Can someone tell me where they go and what they are used for? I'm new to all of this. I have TM VSR 10 with AA hop up chamber, AA 6.01 tight bore barrel. Thank you

Hi ! JG bar10 pro version and AAC hop up chamber

It doesn't fit in the outer barrel morethan that
Ive had to sand it to make it fit
Anyone else had this issue ?
I'd be willing to wager you got a clone with wrong dimensions.

To answer the second part, they are used to stop the system from feeding more than one bb at a time. Keep them loose.

Alrighty! Just got my AA hop up chamber and S-trigger installed on my Cyma VSR-10, and everything seems to have gone well. Just one question: the instructions mention that "turning clockwise: to correct high shot". But isn't it the opposite? If you tighten that screw, don't you increase the hop up, rather than decrease it? Or am I maybe not understanding how a hop up works? All I know is that I read somewhere that you don't want to start with it fully hopped up or it'll ruin your bucking, and I tightened the thing down pretty good when I installed it, so I'm not sure if I've got it set fully hopped up or not. Basically, which way do I turn the bolt to get the hop up all the way down so I can adjust from there?

And that, folks, is a long and roundabout way to ask a question.

Turn it clockwise to tighten and thus increase the hop-up (basically the amount of backspin you put on the BB). Turn it counter-clockwise to decrease this effect.

Sounds like you over-tightened it, turn it counter-clockwise a few revolutions. Only way to find out if it's under or over hopped is to shoot it and adjust. Here's a quick video that explains how to adjust the hop-up properly:

Y'see, I thought that was the case, but the badly translated instructions made me think twice. Really didn't want to try firing a BB through a fully hopped chamber and screw up my bucking. Thanks for clearing that up so quickly for me!

Also, thanks for the scope zeroing video...I haven't seen that one before, and I definitely think I was making the mistake of adjusting my hop to my scope, not the other way around. :ashamed:

Gonna have lots to do at the field when I get there!

Good Saturday Morning, community! I have an interesting problem to share and I hope you will have some teories for it. I have TM VSR10, AA Hop up chamber, 509mm barrel from Well MB03, where I've cut metal bridge on hop up window to make it fir to Maple Leaf Autobot 80 deg bucking. In August 2017- September-2017 I've played with rifle on few games, made decently accurate shoots on 90-100 meters and was very happy with the rifle. Then in Autums and Winter I didn't use VSR and played with assault rifles and DMRs, as players start to wear heavy jackets and stop feeling hits from the long distances. Now in Spring I took my lovely VSR and... It bloody overhops like hell! Even with zero hop! I experienced it when air temperature was -2, I thought maybe rubber was squeezed due to cold. I used 0,46 BBs from Novritsch, so I didn't have opportunity to drastically increase weight of the BB to compensate overhop at zero hop up setting. I used at home 75deg decepticon (literally not used almost) but it again overhops. I used same rubber with stock barrel and hop up chamber - it does not overhop, but accuracy is awful. Finally I put Maple Monster 70 deg to AA chamber and on modified Well MB03 barrel today, loots like it does not over hop that much, I've ordered new Autobot rubbers, but hell I have no idea WHY perfectly shooting before rifle after being stored during winter start to give such surprises. I only thought, that maybe I've put a bit of silicone oil on top of rubber and somehow rubber grown in dimensions, but I don't recall I ever did spray on almost new decepticon 75deg rubber, which did overhop as well. Barrel is clean, I use same omega nub all the time.

... and issue is not over. I received new Autobot rubbers and start to try it with different barrels: stock VSR, WellMB03, AEG barrel which I've modified for VSR - with some rubbers there is no SIGNIFICANT overhop, but my feeling is, that it will start to overhop if I use BBs lighter, than 0.40g. When I put rubber on the barrel - it looks to me OK and I don't see that nub drastically exposed to the barrel window. When I put Barrel+rubber to AA chamber - nub slightly pushed to barrel window, but really slightly, when I put it all together to Outerbarrel - nub get's to the barrel window more.

I was thinking to buy ML Crazy Jet barrel, but now I'm concerned, maybe it is issue with AA chamber itself e.g. it got worn (while I don't see any evidences of it) or maybe outer barrel got damaged? How to check it I don't know at the first sight it does not look like this.

Another strange thing - I never noticed before on 80deg Autobot, that ML rubber has so much significant Warm Up effect. Literally when I used Diamond 70deg after I set Hop up with not frequent shots and then in the game I have to shoot several times in a row BB just flies to the sky. Hell - maybe this is as well a signal, that something is wrong with parts in my VSR?

Really hope to get some valuable advice here.
