Just got my pre-ban AICS in the mail (Seller was forward about it, I knew it had issues), played a night game and it is providing zero hopup on max settings to my .4's. It's got a Laylax 6.03, KA VSR conversion and a Nineball purple bucking. The nub kind of scared me, it was a small, rectangular piece of metal with fairly sharp corners. Looks like a sure fire way to ruin a bucking.

The bucking had some gunk in it, but I do not believe this was the cause as the mound was still clean.

I plan on picking up a new bucking, any ideas? I was thinking a PDI VSR10 W-hold. I had great results with one in my old BAR10. What about a nub? The one in it looks evil.

Could anyone venture a guess as to why it's not hopping? Only thing I can think of is the post on the adjustment screw not pushing on the nub.

I had the same problem with my Best Gun chamber.. The barrel moved forward and I couldn't apply hop.
Check your barrel/bucking alignment.

Not sure what the reason for no hop could be bar whats stated above.
Best way to check is take it out and just push the nub down with the winder and look through the barrel.


The nub will cut though rubbers its happened with everyone off my tanakas.
try and round of the corners and I generally wrap them in ptfe tape as well to soften it slightly more and to reduce any sideways play.

For the bucking I've always used the Lay lax air seal version,as does everyone I know.
Ive heard the firefly give worse results but have never tried as I've always been happy enough with the lay lax.

The BG chamber use Tanaka cut barrels(with the window slightly bigger).
The barrel in mine was a 3-4mn forward.

The screw wont push on the nub, just found that out. It's pushed too far forward.
