Air-soft conversion of real steel

I was just wondering if anyone has made airsoft rifles from real firearms, specifically bolt action.

this is just a idea I have floating around in my head right now, but specifically a lee enfeild could be converted with a custom gas magazine, a barrel liner/chamber insert, and a custom bolt.

specificly that one because it is rear locking, cock on close, and the striker is held back by a peice that is below the main part of the bolt, so that part could extend to strike the valve in a gas magazine.

imposible to fire real ammo without the real bolt, but completely reversible.
In theory other bolt action .30 or larger could work, but not as easily.

It has been done but in most cases such conversion is illegal.
Many have also converted deactivated guns to airsoft which 100% illegal.

Ask around to airsoft clubs around your area.. Be sure before you do anything.
I'm sure such conversions are illegal in Europe.. Don't know about Canada but I'm sure it's illegal there too since airsoft barely survived the ban!

I've got an AR-15 made from parts that's missing two parts before I can put my F2 in it, those being a hop chamber and outer barrel. Basically a Wolverine MTW but less expensive for me as I already own the engine and a number of other parts, and with cooler parts that I can just start off with.

As for a bolt action rifle, I think there's a Silo Entertainment video where he has a KAR98 that has an SSG24 somehow put inside of. Unless you're in the US you'd probably need to get as many parts as possible and make some other parts in order to get everything to work, mainly the stock and whatever fittings.

I personally want to do something similar, but more with a very nice hunting rifle style gun like a Sauer or Sako. I mainly hate how fat the receiver and outer barrel are on airsoft snipers, and want something that actually looks nice. The hardest part in all of this is the barrel, as I want it to be the same diameter and have the same taper of a real rifle, but I'm unable to find steel or aluminum tubing with the ideal starting wall thickness in order to make such a thing. My best bet would be to buy a rifle with a .338cal or larger barrel and insert an airsoft barrel inside, but there is nothing very affordable in that range on top of that being a very heavy barrel. Someday I'll make this happen, but it will probably take a while.

My Thompson M1A1 has a real steel rear sight protector, sling attachment hardware, stock and handguard nuts/bolts. screws, and washers, and a magazine catch.

The parts arent as brittle, they are more available, and some of them cost less than the airsoft parts.

Technically, as I don’t have one to try, but a 1714 arrow has an outer diameter of .265, should fit in any 30 cal barrel.
And enfeilds have a relatively light barrel for a 30 cal.
It would be a shame to use a working one, just need to find one that has been through a fire, maybe drill a hole through the chamber or something to make it for sure unsuitable.

That could work, but it's not exactly what I'm after.
I already went into make a different sniper unprepared, and ended up quitting as I hadn't planned it very well and was unhappy with how it was turning out.
I'll wait until all my chakras align and chi is centered, and then I should be able to do something in a non half assed way that I'll be happy with.

What's the stock setup like that you got there? Looks really nice!

That's a real MFT stock with a mini tank I made, which will screw into my Polarstar UGS when I swap it over to this body when everything is ready

Really cool! Do you have a rough idea of how many shots can you get off of one full tank?
Depends on power, but people have told me 300-650 depending on their guns
