Hi all,

So I recently bought an airsoft Pro Mk3 trigger, piston, spring guide, M150 spring, cylinder & cylinder head from CAMOraids here in the UK.

I've installed these parts into my Bar 10 and it all went great. One problem the rifle is hitting 600 - 610 FPS on my chrono. The UK limit is 500 FPS. Obviously with an M150 spring I was expecting 500 - 510 and just under 500 under after it had bedded in.

What are my options here? It looks like I may have to lop some coils off of the spring however I have no idea how many to/where to start with this.

Would it be easier to get a different spring?

I have/use the same spring. I cut off about 5 coils and that brought me under the 500 fps limit. The spring stays extremely stiff though, so I suggest getting a new spring anyway, try and find a laylax one, they're the most consistent I think.

I think I'll go down the spring cutting route as I want to get this thing operational ASAP. If I can't get it to shoot how I need it to however I'll go down the new spring route.

I'll lop 5 coils off and see what happens, thanks.

Also what Laylax Spring would you recommend to sit just under 500?

Considering you probably have a tight bore barrel and some other upgrades, you should have went for the m140 instead. But anyway, in AirsoftPro that would probably still be too hot.

Get some coils off that spring to make it skirmishable asap, 4 coils should do the trick (you could always cut one more if you still miss the mark).

But try to find a better spring to alleviate tension. A M130 from AirsoftPro or M140 from other brands will probably get you there.

Airsoftpro springs suck. Don't use them. Really. They shrink quickly, deform easily and are ridiculously overpowered. Even when cut down.

I had to cut mine down so much that it barely even fit inside the cylinder, and it was still on the edge of shooting too hot.

Get an AA or PDI spring. They're much, much better.

I second that too, 4/4 ASP failed on my L96 due to extreme shrinkage.

If you need some cheapish spring get action m150 spring (8$ plus 5$ shipping) from shootercb, I've put it in my rifle and with good sealing inside cylinder and bad sealling inside hop up I got 500 fps so if you have good air seal in both hop up and cylinder you'll maybe need to cut 1 or 2 coils of or just wait for it to wore in, also it uses 7mm spring guide. I've also read on asf that ap springs are overpowered.

I was blown away by how over powered it was. Ended up cutting 7, yes 7 coils off of the spring. It was so short in fact that the spring guide stopped would fall out after every shot as the piston didn't sit to the top of the cylinder. Duct tape fixed this issue but I'm far from impressed with it.

I'll use it until it dies then get an AA spring as was recommended above.

I would get the 13mm PDI with that set. Japanese springs are the best there are.

9/13mm springs pull easier than 7/11mm springs, but then you'd need a 13mm piston and 9mm spring guide as well. ASP pistons are 11mm so you'd need a new one. I'd just get a 7mm spring.

This is what I'm using: Action VSR10 M150 power spring, Air Cocking Spring Gun Upgrade Parts, Shooter Combat Gear, shoots around 499 fps with airleaks in my hop up and aa 6.01 tbb, action army springs were sold out on ehobbyasia so I've bought this instead.

The piston that comes with the mk3 is 13mm and has the New updated shorter spring along with additional sleeve spring guide (7mm+9mm).

All the sets I got my hands on didn't. Well, the ID of the piston is 13mm, but that's not going to fit a 13mm OD spring. It'll be too tight.

I'd recommend an AA M150, if you cut it down a little it'll be right under 500 fps :tup:

The spring guide with sleeve fits 7mm and 9mm springs. The mk3 set comes with a 9mm inner 13mm outer spring. I am using a 9mm PDI spring just fine.

That's interesting, I might have to pick up one of these Pistons so I can try out a 13mm spring. Any idea how much the new piston weighs?

Funny. I'll try it in one, I've got a couple lying around. I have only tried it in the V1 pistons and it didn't fit, but to be frank I never tried it in the V3. They seemed the same size though.

The newest AirsoftPro triggers have a spring guide for 7/11mm, but also a spring guide "sleeve" to adapt it to 9/13mm. The piston included with the gen 3 triggers is also compatible with 9mm springs, of course.

AFAIK, they don't sell the piston or guide separately.

They used to sell them separately though.
