Not sure when seasons start for other states, but in PA it's deer season! Archery at the moment (not my cup of tea), and I think this weekend is the last weekend to get your bear license. I'm sure somebody else on here hunts, I myself am 21 and have only gone once sadly, but looking to get back into it now that I've got access to a rifle to use.

Im in PA too! I was too late for my doe tags, but me and my dad are focusing on building a blind for Duck, we just bagged acouple of Coyote this year! Me and dad have been trying to get deep enough in where we could really bow hunt, but we just haven't had the time. Maybe I will develop the flu in a week, and I won't be able to attend school for a week or two. :yup:

Me and my Dad recently sold our 30-06s and 308s in favor of acouple of high quality 22s, some aftermarket parts, and 2 Nikons for our AR-15s. Since we weren't thinking at the time and now our gun money is running abit low since my dad decided to deck out his DDM4, we'll just have to go deer hunting this year with some 12 gauges and our bows.

We always go small game hunting, when we're camped out nothing is better then abit o' rabbit and squirrel, and some other random thing we shot.

Im in Wisconsin, yeah, hunting has started, I have gone bow hunting only 2 times, but for this gun season I am using my muzzle loader. I am 14 years old. I got my first buck during the youth hunt earlier this year. Just a small 4 pointer but hey, 1st buck. I rub it in my brother's face cuz hes 2 years older and he missed 2 bucks with his bow.

Got a buck on Opening weekend with a Ruger Mini-30, and going to hunt for a doe since I bought another tag. Taking out my Muzzle loader .54cal with 450gr solid lead rounds.

Going Elk hunting on December 10th through the 20th, a 10 day trip with a .303 Brit Lee Enfield from 1954, with a Tasco 4-16x42mm scope,10rd steel magazine (loaded with Hornady 150gr bullets and 47.5 grains of IMR 4350 and Federal cases). It weighs roughly 13lbs. Dad thought I was crazy on taking it up there (mostly hills with several flats).

Spring I am going Black bear hunting with my 45-70 single shot and till next season its all ground squirrel and coyote for me >:D them squirrels have no chance with me and my .22. It can hit them at 120yrds! No joke.

Good luck hunting guys!

.54 cal with 450gr bullets!? Holy crap dude! Mine is .50 cal with 120 gr bullets. Well mine kicks like a pellet gun but whatever. I wouldnt be able to shoot your gun probably.
Its not that bad, I use them with 120 grains of PirateX powder and when I shoot for kicks I use 100% Black powder I was able to pick up from an old timer for $50. Seems like many people like those small .50's for some reason, they are fun as hell to shoot but I prefer round balls in them instead of the rifle style bullet. You'd be able to shoot it when your either my height/weight or when you my age and pain doesn't come to you as much when shooting.

Took down a little 2x2 Blacktail this season. First deer. Dang those things are hard to find. My dad has access to 40,000 acres of timber land his company owns and in a long weekend of hunting with 8 people we saw two spikes and the buck I shot. They browsers not grazers, so they do not follow the same path everyday like muleys and whitetail. They will also eat anything so the don't necessarily come out to a field to feed at night. It makes them very hard to hunt.

I took a bobcat there last year which was cool. Other than that I took down two grouse.

Edit: Welcome back Sumta! Haven't seen you around in a while.

My boss and his neighbor got two bucks a week ago. Neighbor got one with a bow from a tree stand behind the shop. My boss got his with shot gun/slugs off his deck.

We have over 150# of venison in the freezer. All od Dec is left for bow hunting.

It's all corn fed as the deer live in the local corn fields. We grill a couple times a week. It's delicious! Non fattening too.
