Wow my ongoing trouble with Tanaka just does not end..
So I had a chance to mess with this today took out bolt to mess with PCS system to my disbelief thier no PCS system .. I have looked and it looks like KJW If anyone has both kjw and non pcs I would love to see a pic so I can confirm .
At this point I am giving up on this one and using PP buyer protection and get my cash back and start searching again..
thanks

Don't bother with Tanaka's... They are way overrated.
They have too many problems and they break down fairly easy and the biggest drawback is that they have no replacement parts!
I mean other than the hop up area.. Like trigger and parts in the receiver.

I'm sorry to hear you've been fooled, hope to sort this soon.

The newer models don't have the PCS system because of the ban, but it still could be a KJW bolt I guess; hard to tell. Is the rest of the rifle a Tanaka?

I still don't understand how they can break down a lot though. The only moving part is the trigger mechanism and the plunger in the magazine. The only trigger piece that I've know to ever wear-out is made by G&G, but it needs some modding to fit.

I haven't seen up close a KJW bolt but that looks amazingly like a non PCS Tanaka.
The Japanese ban happened in the early 2000...
Basically if you drill the nozzle or replace it with an unrestricted you'll have it like the PCS bolt in it's max position.
The bolts are the same internally.

I guess that would make sense as this was made in 98, so it is set for max airflow..
Strange though with a full mag it is shooting with less FPS then my KWA PTP and terrible range ..

Take your gun apart and check the hop up bucking, also take a look at the impact plate of the magazine and the valve knocker(sear) in the magwell fie wear.

Also take out the 2 small screw on bolts bottom side and check if the screw that holds the striker spring is tight.

Basically these are the only things that can go wrong. My guess is the striker spring screw is loose.
I've seen wear on the sear after quite a few thousand shots!! Installing a new one was real pain... I hope it won't happen to you!
