Anyone purchase from Taiwangun ?

Considering that S&T Kar98 spring is not a popular sniper platform to use for skirmish, I'm sure the one you got is an old batch. Probably has been in their warehouse for like eternity or so.

And my friend has it, and yes the bolt would lock when the safety is on

Taiwangun is one of the biggest EU retailers and generally has a good reputation, pre Brexit everyone ordered form them in the UK due to being so much cheaper.

I have ordered to Taiwan gun and never had any major issues. Sure the box was beat up, but that is thanks to the shipping companies. Looks about right for an S&T. I have never seen an S&T that didn't look like someone mistreated it.

I have a version 2, I am not sure what has changed with the v3. But the Version 2 has been fun to use. It is a gas rifle though so there is that.

Very hard to play as a sniper with it out of the box!
Ask Swit Airsoft what upgrades (TNT's) are available and install a ML bucking (Autobot / Mr HOP), not TNT's.

Me, many of my friends, players I know, ordered/ing from taiwangun and everything Ok! The only "issue" with taiwangun is that it WAS the cheap E.U airsoft store to get airsoft equipment. But no more.

I never had any problems with any of my orders so far (~3 years).
I have ordered a few replikas and only my Cyma SR25 box, received with a very small tear. Normal during shipping-handling, nothing to worry about. Only once heard about a damaged product.

Looks like your box was mishandled during shipping. Send an email to taiwangun with those pictures.

With black .40g BBs, for ¢.689 a piece if I buy 56 bags after shipping, which is cheaper than anywhere else. Comparatively, BLS is ¢1.62 a piece, and everybody else is between ¢1.6 and ¢2 a piece, which is pretty high.
Whenever I gather up $500 to do a huge order including some other stuff I should definitely be more effective with my M4, and save a shit ton of money in the long run as well.

I'd say that with their popularity they seem perfectly fine, and their prices seem to make ordering well worth it, if you order enough to make up for the $40 shipping.

As for the sniper, Negative Airsoft did a video a while ago saying that the gun sucks, and it's being pushed by people (idk who, I haven't seen anything) and you're supposed to spend hundreds on a TNT kit to have a lame sniper. To me this seems like an opportunity to sell parts, so I'd probably just get rid of the thing and get the PPS one if you insist on that style.

Based on the video: Not worth to buy the kar98 and spend money on TNT upgrade kit to make it shoot like the upgraded kar98 on the video...

Ordered from TG a lot. Their customer support is great.

Id love to pick up one of these but does it still perform well in cold weather since it's powered by green gas?

See that is the glory of the PPS. You can get CO2 magazines for it. I have not used one though as it generally never gets that cold for me where I am. You can also use Mapp/Pro, red gas or black. Just make sure you empty the mag at the end of the day before going home. Will help save your mags from over pressure when they warm back up.
