The VC has a small one way valve in it. The HD is solid.
Odds are you actually don't have a negative pressure problem. Only time you will is if you are running a 1J or lower build with a longer barrel then what you have the air volume to use, even then it is still debated if it happens or not.
Also PDI has a tendency to run their parts to their own spec. Which in the VSR the premier cylinder, has less air volume then the original, while the bore up has a little more over the original. Not sure what the specs are for the AW.338 parts, but I would imagine that they follow the same trend.
Most gas bolts suck by the way. They tend to be a bit of a pain to HPA. I should know as I have tried multiple times.
