So thought it would be useful to do a quick review of this rifle since it's a readily available APS2/Type 96 clone that most shops sell yet finding part/upgrade info is difficult.

First of all stock performance on this gun is ok it comes shooting at 400fps (ignore the boxes supposed 450fps) and is usable to about 45/50 metres.

Stock hop can lift .32 gram bbs but wouldn't try higher due to the low stock FPS.

Now here comes the parts breakdown.
So this clone is built on the APS2/type 96 platform by Maruzen but it does have some differences.

The trigger is type96 but comes stock at 45 degrees and not 90 like most clones. This needs to be upgrades if going above 400fps. Any type96 trigger should work fine.

The cylinder is crimped and pinned. Not the best construction but should last awhile. The cylinder is type 96.

The cylinder head is larger than a stock type 96 from the info I could find which means it has compatibility issues with the action army hop chamber. (Interesting it also has a threaded nozzle like the Well MB01)

The hop unit takes type 96 buckings but comes stock with a proprietary bucking which is a cross between a type96 with a vsr alignment nub on the outside.

Barrel is standard type 96.and 6.08 not much to say not good not bad.

Now upgrading the rifle is a bit unique to upgrade the hop unit/barrel you have two paths.

1. Upgrade the cylinder and head to a type 96.
2. Use the AirsoftPro gen3 hop unit which works with this rifle.

The good
Working firing indicator
Working empty mag indicator
Decent build quality

The bad
Non standard cylinder head and hop rubber
45 degree trigger

Overall if the MB01 isn't available get this over an AWS clone as it's not bad just more planning to upgrade.

Update

Changed trigger to an mb01 stock trigger which has now shattered. Stock trigger unit is much better quality than the well even though 45 degrees. Going to disassemble and check if Sears can be swapped over if so looks like sear upgrades for stock trigger are a budget friendly option.

The asg trigger box is noticeably thicker and sturdier, the internal Sears are also much superior quality and don't feel like your normal chinesium pot metal.

It's a real possibility that a good quality 90° sear is all this trigger box would need for a 500fps/2.3j build

Little update on the trigger, I have come across multiple people fielding this rifle at 2+ Joule's on the stock trigger Sears and piston without short term issues although long term reliability isn't guaranteed.

I know A reputable retailer in the UK currently defaults to S hopping and putting an M150 in this rifle for upgrading it from stock rather than changing parts and most people I spoke to don't seem to have any complaints with its performance with these upgrades. Although most were part time snipers at best.

Small update

Pic rail screws can come loose and should ideally have some light glue placed on thread and tightened

Confirmed aftermarket parts support

-Airsoft Pro gen3 hop unit (+AEG hop rubber and barrels)
-Well mb01 trigger units and/or sears (please note most aftermarket piston sears are designed differently to the stock sears and need a small rod put through and glued so the springs can keep the piston sear resetting correctly)
- Airsoft Pro type96 piston (works with 7&9mm springs
-Modify 9mm spring guide (this spring guide is compatible with the firing indicator) other units may not have the required hollow portion in the spring guide)
-7mm springs are installed stock and I have tested with an action army 7mm m150 for type96, 9mm springs work with compatible 9mm aftermarket parts
