Well, I might try looking used. That being considered. Are there any other gas models available now that live up to this models potential?

I've heard Ares is shit.

The king arms M700 series is intriguing, being based off the KWJ/Tanaka system. I've heard externals are exceptional, I just haven't been able to find much info outside that.

Also, beautiful replica btw.

I'm a huge Tanaka fan.. Love my M24 , I have one more Tanaka M700 but that's not ready yet to hit the field.
I've had 6 different Tanakas so far.
The KJW ,VFC and King Arms are Tanaka clones. Haven't touched a KA yet so won't comment.
The non take down versions of the KJW are good and they come with VSR compatible hop up chambers from factory while the Tanaka NEED the VSR conversion, hop up chambers for Tanaka are hard to find these days.

If you wait a bit VFC M40s pop up for sale.

Might as well! Worth a look. I found a user with two nib out of Hawaii. Just need to decide what direction I want to go next month. M40, or m700
