Just got my .4's and V-trigger (AWESOME product!) in the mail yesterday, and even on full hop, im getting no effect. Im using the stock BAR10 chamber, with a shimmed arm. And a stock rubber, where I think my problem lies.

Any more easy mods I could do?

The stock Bar-10 buckings won't spin a .40 efficiently. I recommend that you upgrade your bucking with a NineBall hard type & you should be good to go.
Where do you get yours? Cheapest I can find is like $29 shipped -_-

Ron, your amazing
Do you plan on changing the chamber anytime? Just wondering, it isn't that bad but As I said IMO it doesn't cut it compared to the VSR. good luck with the new bucking.
This chamber actually came from a ''brand new'' bone yard BAR10, and the tolerances are actually pretty good. I doubt it near TM spec, but this will do, considering I got it for $15.

Also, I have some custom hop up arms in the works ;)

The problem isn't that the vsr-10 chamber doesn't cut it, it's mainy a design flaw. When the original bar 10 was released years ago, there were no upgrade parts so shooting .36's and .4's wasnt even in their minds. The design was reused for the copies (bar-10) and the major problem is that the hop up arms will not apply enough pressure to the bucking for that heavy weight of bb's.

Bar 10 hop up > Pdi. Any day. Dont dump all your money into a pdi chamber when for a few diy mods you will be performing at a much higher level.

To add sufficient hop to your heavy weight bb's, you are going to want to dissassemble your hop up and take out the arm. From there add on about 2-3 layers of masking or electrical tape over the points where the arms touch the bucking. Cut on the sides to ensure the arm can move up and down and then reassemble. I've had to do this on ALL of my vsr's and Bar 10's.

Another solution would be to switch to .30's as the bar-10 hops seem to like them alot more than the heavier weights.

A little creativity and time will get you a long ways when it comes to the VSR series.

Also, Like the others said, Grab a better bucking as well.

Ct man has some great advice.

To add, have you added the shim inside the arm? This will apply more pressure as the hop up lever piece will be able to push further on the arm towards the bucking, adding hop.

I also am running with a small o-ring/slightly sanded down arms. I am hoping .4s on roughly 50% setting, although, there is not much of a significant change in amount of hop up pressure on say 10% or 90% (very minimal change). Therefore, this results in heavy weights being necessary as the .28s sky rocket up, due to the pressure being applied being much greater than with the stock set up.

Ct, Thanks for the advice, as well as Fuzzy.

I should be buying a bucking tonight or tomorrow morning from AEX, and Ill add a shimmed to the arm and put some tape on the arm prongs.

If I could buy one, Id mod the arm i have to accept a SCS and buy a nubless bucking.

With the shimming done and a good bucking everything will preform great, but just a little behind IMO to the vsr which is definitely better then the PDI. I don't know why people hate the PDI so much because I love mine to bits, it really works well. But with enough mods the difference between the PDI, VsR and the BAR 10 the difference isn't substantial so no need to fork out money. I am just not great at shimming so I would pay more for a better preforming out of the box chamber.

Sorry to be off topic and I hope you have a great time when your bucking arrives
