One of my teammates ran a real bayonet on his M16 when we did our Vietnam impressions. I wouldn't recommend doing this though; it has danger written all over it lol.

I agree with woogie. Zipties are probably your best bet if you don't want it permanently attached to your rifle.

Or you could just make the real one very dull just to make it a bit safer. Seems like your only option at the moment. I've only seen dummy M16 bayonets.
