Hi guys!

After an absence of some time I shall do my come back now! And it'll start with a question about bayonets for airsoft.

So, there I was, lurking through the internet when I found this from rsov.com:

So I went bananas "GEE!!! I never ever thought there could be bayonets for airsoft! I gotta get one for my M14!" But rsov has only M9. Since then I've searched for M6 bayonet with locking mechanism, this due of finding this:

Problem here is the fact of the bayonet being one solid object, molded in a single mold, hence it has no locking mechanism and will take a lift off once the weapon swings from side to side.

With this problem I start a thread for airsoft bayonets. =)

Maybe use glue to keep it there?

Glue is an obvious option which I did not even write here mainly because it will be a permanent-ish solution which I do not want to use. it would be nice to be also able to remove the bayonet.

Wonder if that silicone molded version sold via ebay could be modified to have a locking mechanism?

Just googled zipties... >< M14 is NOT an Ak-47 that can be put together with anything from chewing gum to concrete xP Solution has to be decent at least on some level. How about some other locking mechanism than the original? Then again I recon silicone can't be glued/melted etc. together again if it's sliced half... This said same problem would be faced with the self made locking mechanism too... Dang... Any ideas what would hold things against silicone?

Are real ones how expensive? What I searched from net I found prices from $40 to less than $200. Wonder if I could cut the real blade and mold it and make an soft blade that somehow could be attached inside the bayonet... Ha! What if I'd mold the whole metal frame which includes the blade and frame in which comes the locking mechanism and on the sides comes the handle covers?? =D

You mean a rubber / silicone version? How? Just from falling down?

Dull or not, it would still be a potentially stabbable piece of steel. After all, in airsoft people tend to run and with even mere run momentum a dull bayonet surely can cause harm.

I thought that M14's have a bayonet lug on them. So it really shouldn't be a problem.

Yea it has... And? I do not see how it would not be a problem? Please elaborate mate! =)

That is a possibility... But wouldn't it look a bit... Weird, if you have a bayonet in its place but locked down with an obviously unnecessary part? Since the bayonet is supposed to have its own locking mechanism in it... This fact would "feek" up my mind for the rest of my life. =P No, it's got be something inside the bayonet that will lock it into place... But what... If I'd only know better on what one can do with already cast silicone...

There is a bayonet for sale on Evike. A few people around here have them and I have personally been killed with one, which was quite embarrassing. They're pretty crappy quality but they do have a locking mechanism, I'm just not sure if they'll mount on an M14 or not as I've only seen them mounted on M4's. Oh and the picture on Evike makes it look much higher quality that it is.

Would be perfect and if it would fit I wouldn't have needed this topic either. =) I recall mentioning about that M9 knife in the very first post of this threat. I'm after M6 version for M14.

Take a real bayonet, cut off all but 1/2 inch of the blade, then fit a piece of molded foam/plastic/rubber over that as a replacement blade?

Could try... But what substance could keep that new blade on steel? And after all that 1/2 inch would still count as a blade. Even in all the shortest shortness of it.

Does anyone know anyone who can/could do silicone moldings?

Tape a banana to the barrel, won't matter if it brakes and it isn't permanent.
