I would recommend that you look around for second production McMillian stocks. Talk to a McMillan rep, they usually have one or 2 laying around. They have small flaws, but are mostly cosmetic. They run anywhere from $200 to $600 depending on where you look. Personally your better off hitting up CDI for any custom jobs they mess up on, or look on midway usa for rifle stocks with a "vertical grip" Unless you know someone they can be VERY expensive. Do your homework and talk nice on the phone, go straight to the dealers and not the suppliers. If anyone here is USA based and can make a mag release for this gun/knows how to properly mount and align the action blot, and barrel pm me.
Building M40 A5(Need help)

It took allot of research, but Ive finally got all the parts and together to build a M40 A5 with KAC SR25 suppressor.
Ive wanted to do this for awhile. The final straw was when Ares said they were going to make a M40. After looking at the pictures, I was disgusted at the lack of detail and the exorbitant cost. I thought, "Hell I can make a superior M40 that cant be copied" so I decided to build another one of my custom guns. The first obstacle was the stock. I wanted to get a mcmillian stock, on a budget(LOL) I almost got one , but it didnt work out. My contact in MCmillan couldnt hook me up with a stock, and CDI was too busy, I talked to a rep at ------- and bought one of their .308 short pull tactical rifle stocks. It comes with aluminum bedding and all the features of a McMillian, even has a v cut so the barrel will osculate correctly. I could have gotten a Mcmillan stock, but id have to wait 3 months for the price I wanted to pay. I figured Im shooting BBs, not match grade ammo, and for the price I paid, I couldn't be happier.

The dilemma: I need someone who is good with CNC work. I need to make a mag release and have the rifle action and barrel aligned correctly with the stock. If anyone can do this Id be happy to pay them.

I received the m700 and the heavy barrel. I removed the original Tanaka barrel and replaced it with a M700 heavy barrel with a KAC suppressor mount. The next issue was bedding the rifle.

As you can see the V cut in the bedding is preventing me from mounting the front correctly the the magwell. I need a drill press and would have to shave off one inch within the stock and use the drill press to make a deeper hole that would properly mate the magwell with the barrel, as well as blocking and spacing where the action meets the barrel to correctly align it with the action, creating a "free floating" barrel.
2)The "professionals"
I generally go through friends when it comes to real steel issues, but they arent local. The gun shops in my area arent worth the headache. I stay away from gun shops who aren't owned and operated by military veterans. Reason being is its less of a gun shop and more of a stand up comedy club. The employees are jokes and its a 5 drink minimum before they are funny. Unfortunately the person I was going to use is doing RS work, so that option is out. I had to bring it to a local shop. The 1st question the employee asked is "why do you want to ruin a perfectly good rifle stock for a airsoft gun?' My respose was "Im going to pay you X amount of money to do it and its a simple process." "well we are working on REAL guns right now and dont have time to work on bb guns, besides its aluminum bedding and that will be a complex process" I will leave out the rest that transpired, but I was less than pleased.
3) The solution:
To all the machinists, engineers and contractors that are US based reading this message, I will drop some serious cash if you can pull this off. I went through 3 local gun shops that said it was impossible or to "complex." I want YOU to show them that someone with absolutely no knowledge of real steel weaponry can do the "impossible." PM me if you want to get paid.

If you want a gun built, go to a gun shop; If you want it built right go to talk to my friends. The reality is that my friend did a better job than any gun shop could have done. The bedding of the rifle was so precise that the barrel had a perfect float all the way to the magwell. There was no deviation and the barrel was in alignment with the action. If it were a real rifle it would oscillate without even touching the side of the stock. He did a wonderful job. Im going to start moding these 308 short action tactical stocks for KJW/ tanaka m700s. It was very hard, but bedding a real rifle stock to a airsoft gun isnt easy. The results say it all. I am one of a hand full of people in the world that have a true m40 a5 rifle. The only thing missing is a MK/SN, the armors designation, I even have a heavy barrel that can take the KAC suppressor. The best part is you'd have to know someone and de-mill it in order to get it overseas and no one can touch the prices on em. This is one gun that wont get cloned any time soon.
