So since PDI is having a halloween sale and a shipping sale i decided to go and buy a full type 96 hard set off of X-fire. I've received an email from them telling me that they need my license but i don't have one. Is it likely to be stopped at U.K. customs?
Somewhat after the fact but hopefully useful to future readers.
1) It isn't a licence, there is no licence for airsoft in the UK. UKARA ( and other systems) are proof of an exemption from the terms of the Violent Crime Reduction Act (VCRA 2006) allowing you to purchase a Replica Imitation Firearm (RIF).
2) You only need UKRA, or another proof of exemption, if you are importing a whole complete RIF in to the UK. If you are buying parts you shouldn't need to prove you need/have an exemption. PDI may be asking as a default position but it isn't needed to import things like pistons, hop ups, barrels in to the UK.
This is three months old. I'm sure he has already bought the parts.
