I recently bought the UTG multi shot pistol grip shotgun for my secondary. I like it a lot so far, but I have a problem. I got this scabbard to carry it around with me http://www.airsoftatlanta.com/Condor_Outdoor_Shotgun_Scabbard_holster_airsoft_p/148.htm but so far it doesn't really work as planned. The scabbard tends to kind of have a death grip on the shotgun, making drawing out the shotgun from behind my back nigh impossible. So I have a couple questions. How is a shotgun normally carried as a secondary? Was the scabbard the right idea? And if so, how can I make it work for me?

You could give it a rifle rag. That should take care of concealing it enough, while allowing you to still operate it with ease.

I could make one for you you know. ;)

Is it a full stock or a sawn off? A sawn off just use a one point bungee sling?

speaking of shotties my local field has a "sniper" hire package which I saw someone shell out for this week, they got a L96 and a full length shotty, no sling and no one told them how to zero the scope oh and they were given .25s for a 450fps rifle.....poor kid was struggling without a ghille carrying two rifles with out a sling let alone hitting a target!

Are you wearing a plate carrier or any kind of vest with molle on the back? If so, you can use an old large radio pouch, or a water bottle pouch or something of that nature. Then you get a horizontal pistol mag pouch with buckles, and cut the sides off. It will secure the shotgun very well, and is a lot easier to get it in and out of it. If not, a 2 point sling, preferably one that can go into 1 point configuration, will do you well. Think about the fagpul MS2, condors(which isn't bad, even though many tacticool elitist say they are) 2 point sling(http://www.condoroutdoor.com/us1002_cbt_bungee_sling.aspx), or for maximum retention you could try the mission spec irene sling(http://missionspec.com/products/ias-irene-adaptive-sling/)

Its a pistol grip, full length barrel. A really poor quality sling came with it (UTG), and if its anything like the strap that came with the MK96 I dont want it anywhere near my gun

Fuzzy, if you could just tell me how to make one, that would be enough. Of course, it would be AWESOME if you did make me one....

I dont really have a vest or anything. My suit is one of those 3D camo ones from Cabelas. They have these slits on each pant leg, so I can easily access my pockets. So I normally wear cargo pants/shorts and it works great.
