hey guys, I'm new here and was just asking a question on how i should upgrade my G3 to a DMR set up. I have had two DMR's in the past, but they broke on me in the first 30 rounds. I think the problem was the m150 spring I had in them. I want some upgrades that will give me both power and accuracy, but not break in 30 rounds or less.

What parts were breaking? Do you need 500FPS or will 450FPS be enough? You have to correct your piston's AOE.

I can help on a 450FPS part build but I only have experience in SAWs. The accuracy mods can be found in the DMR HOLY GRAIL sticky. My SAWs round for thousands of rounds per game and I usually loose a piston around 50K cycles. This should come as good news. Research AOE or angle of engagement correction which if I had to guess was the main problem use you were using soft gears. Then read the holy grail or vise-versa, either way you'll need to get to know them.

This is a a copy/paste from another thread so it may read out of context, fare warning. You might have some parts laying around that can help from previous builds to keep your costs down but you probably already know DMRs aren't cheap. The only thing I can think of specifically in your case is the 7mm bearings. They need to be replaced with 7mm bushings or you can use Ceramic bearings but I would not push them over 450FPS and I would still keep an eye on them. Or you can go to a 8mm or 9mm MB.
"Cheap route from scratch:
Semi-only selector plate mod unless your local field allows full-auto for DM like mine.
$8 for another selector plate
$15 KWA 2GX hopup bucking
$60 TBB (ie Prommy 509mm 6.03)
$5 shims (Modify or Prommy set for very close shim jobs)
$15 Bearing spring guide
$15 Prommy MS-135 or other other 450FPS spring
$50 G&P M160 motor or another neodymium magnet motor (matrix is cheap but not as good)
$40 Prometheus Hard type piston (still need to correct AOE)

Should be near 17rps which is enough for a quick trigger response.

Thats pretty close, you need a battery if you don't have a 9.6v large battery and I'm assuming your gears are not poopoo. I'm also assuming you do not have a 7mm MB or plastic bearings.

But yeah, after you can get the system running then you have the headache of getting the most out of it and getting the velocity consistent enough to place shots at range.

Add a active breaking mosfet later and rewire your gear box with 14ga wire at the same time. You could also switch to Deans Ultra plugs. "

Well the problem was the m4 dmr I had I bought that matrix m150 gearbox and the matrix magnum motor. I fixed the pinion gear on the motor because that stripped.

The M4 and M14 are long gone so that's in the past. Right now I'm looking for a new setup. Ill give you a list of parts I have right now, I have the Matrix magnum motor and an M120 spring currently in my G3. To the first post you gave me I would like to have it at 500fps but still maintain accuracy also. The problem is I don't know any good parts, usually i would buy torque gears and such because they say torque. I'm looking for parts that will be reliable and perform really good.

Ok, well can you help me with the 450 fps? My tech guy just told me he popped a m150 spring in his classic army gearbox and after a few thousand rounds the whole front end of the gearbox snapped off.
