Im considering building a dmr. Have a upgraded vsr, but it Dosent really fit my playstyle, i like doing a few games as a ”sniper”, but then i get bored and just runs pistol rest of the day.. active and agressive is more me.

at the field i want to start playing at again, i Will get into alot of short distance engagements, but i Will miss out on the long distance engagements, so i would like a Long range gun, to compliment my pistol. Alot of transitions between dmr and pistol, and alot of movement with rifle hanging from a sling, so a compact dmr would be nice. love the look and the size of an srs, but i dont need an extra basr.

field rules for dmr.
2.85 joule on `20’s, Max allowed bb weight 0.36g. 20 meter Med. Semi only(no more than 2 bb’s airborne at a time).

my build Will be:
hpa engine of some sort
good budget
“compact“ platform where the real steal counterpart has been made in 7.62 caliber version

have been looking at
svu cyma/g&g
never tried a bullpup, so dont Know how it feels shooting and transition to and from.

scar h, longer than i would prefer but i Will go with it if a svu Or other bullpup isnt a good idea for a hpa build.

other 7.62 platforms that isnt Seen alot on a airsoft field that you could suggest?

dont really want a hk 417, i see alot of those on most fields.

best regards

Thanks for all the answers.
i aware that i dont need a Long gun to make it shoot Well on Long distances, but to me it looks wrong with a magnified rifle scope on a short Assault rifle platform.
in my country it isnt a dmr unless it has a magnified rifle scope.

thats why i was looking at bullpups, they Can look right with a scope and still be extremely compact. but dosent help that much it wielding it isnt easy.

furthermore a field that i May start visiting currently talking about adding an Extra rule, only rifles that has been made real steel as caliber 7.62/308 or larger Can be 2.8joule Dmr’s, 5.56/9mm and so on, would only be allowed at 2.2 joule.

i have been looking at wolverine mtw, it looks awesome. Light weight and good reviews.
i suppose it appeals to me as the platform it’s prebuilt and designed for hpa.
proprietary parts and not being able to move engine to other aeg platform kind of sucks Though.

okay so a scar isnt a good baseplatform. Then thats out.

rifle and a an airstock, thats pretty Nice combo you Got there silicone…

that kind of leaves me with a 308, g&g or other brand.

thanks for advice and suggestions guys, it’s much appriciated.

hmm i need to find a ”local” shop that let me get a feel for the svu, the compactness makes it very appealing to me if the drawbacks Arent to big.

erhmm, Think my hands are medium Size, but ill look forward to the tutorial.
no pso scope and not a lefty, but i Will transition to shooting from left shoulder when needed.
I have a good quality 4-6x50 scope that isnt being used, so that is going on what ever dmr platform i go For.

In your oppinion, is there any drawbacks on wielding the svu Compares to a non bullpop large caliber gun? Or is it just a question of getting use to it?

how is the upgrade possibilities on it? doing a bit of fitment to get parts to work Well is okay, but drop in parts isnt a bad Thing:).

shoulder padding is notes, Any mods, internal And external that you would suggest if i go for the svu.

Yes acording to the rules that are suggested, it has to be an 7.62, lenght doesnt really matter. well everything devellops, why shoudnt ammo.
but none the less, if i have to use a 7.62 platform i would prefer it’s one that at some point has been used as a dmr/marksman/sniper rifle. efficiency is important, but a bit of realism is cool.

it’s not a rule yet, it might or might not become a rule. but as i understand it, it Dosent matter if it’s a 51-54-39, as Long as it’s a 7.62. But it kind of makes sence to me, to give different types of guns specific advantages.
big power, long Range gun 7.62. 2.85 joule dmr with 20m minimum engagement distance.

vss is a 9mm sniper, meant for shorter range precision shooting in more Urban scenarios. So Their “rule” makes sence in that aspect to. Small and light weight, super manouverable and low power. It would be put into 2.2 joule dmr class With 10m minimum engagement distance.

now back to talking about good 7.62/308 platforms :)

Vss and mtw, undeniably good choices, thx for your suggestion, but for several reasons i would like to build a drm from a 7.62 platform. good m4, slap in a Maxx hop, a fusion engine and a good barrel, get a hpa guy to set dwell and so on, then bob is my uncle erhmm lol. To many m4’s in my op. im aware that most 7.62 platforms it Not the easy road to dmr heaven, neither in drop in modifications or compactness But i still want it :)

Thanks again guys, cool with suggestions and oppinions :).

that we scar conversion kit looks awesome, Shame they dont do that look for aegs.

atm im pretty into the svd, but if i run into a used tm scar i would consider that too. Will be a bit before i start my project, Will start looking into parts and plan it.
