"put it into your shopping cart and be done" is a myth in airsoft sniping world. it doesn't exist.
no OOTB rifle will be ever hope to match the performance of a well tuned rifle, especially if said person took the time to know their own rifle's quirks. no matter what you buy, you WILL ALWAYS ended up upgrading it if airsoft sniper's role really stick to you. might as well get the most supported platform for that. that's is why VSR compatible platform is still king today.
1. You can literally take an SRS and TAC (as well as the SSG24) to a field with a decent scope and be competitive enough in the field after hop up tuning (for the record, I literally did just that before). The time where no stock rifles can competitively compete with a tuned rifle is already so long gone, it itself has become a myth, when the workings and tech of airsoft rifle is already well developed - Airsoft is no rocket science.
2a. Why have a hundred different kind of upgrades if your stock rifle comes with the stuff you absolutely need stock? In a VSR, you need the AA chamber, a steel cylinder, a set of zero trigger, better pistons, etc......which the TAC for instance already has that completely stock on top of a rotary hop adjustment wheel as well as lefty compatibility.
2b. What is a hundred different kind of upgrades good for if most of the brands either are total shit, downright downgrades or is incompatible with each other, when the stock rifle not only has well designed internals stock, it also has official aftermarket support to fine tune or just waste money on?
I'm not dissing the VSR or building rifles for shits sake but this blind support over a platform for reasons that can't quite stand up to scrutiny nowadays is sickening.
