Hello Snipers! I am looking to buy my first Sniper Rifle i have played alot of games with my friends M24 Snow Wolf and it keeps breaking, now im looking for my own one..
I am looking at a Tokyo Marui VSR-10 Pro Sniper Rifle as its pretty much fully upgradable and i have seen its pretty popular. Could you wizards shed some light on my head. Thanks Ben.

First of all, buy a BAR 10 rather than a VSR 10 and use the money saved on upgrades

Secondly, like 1tonne said, what fps are you after (and what is your field's limit)?

And thirdly, what is your budget? ;)

Get:
JG Bar10
Action Army Zero Trigger/Piston
M150 Spring (Or a M170 and cut it down to the correct fps)
500mm x 6.01mm
AA Spring Guide
0.36gm bb's (possibly 0.4gm but you would need a shorter barrel)
Action Army Hopup Chamber
Maple VSR10 70 degree Bucking
Maple AEG hopup spacer (It will fit in the VSR too)
Barrel spacers made from masking tape
AA Teflon Cylinder (This is not necessary but it makes thing smooth)
3-9x40 scope

Guys, he lives in the UK, the jg bar 10 is probably one of the hardest things to come by. Unfortunately the only real choices you have are the TM vsr, HFC vsr, or the other inferior clones such as the well, cyma, aps, and snow wolf.

Out of all of these only the TM and hfc vsr that I know of are fully upgradeable (except maybe the cyma, I haven't done enough research on it to find out.). If like you say money isn't a problem, then hands down get the TM, you can get it on zeroone for 174.99, a friend of mine has the hfc version and I really dont think it's up to the same standards as the tm version, the external quality is much greater on the tm and if you leave it stock for a bit it will treat you much better. The hfc would be a good choice if you take real good care of the gun and drop a lot of cash on it right out the box.

On zero one the TM is £174.99
And if you buy the hfc in two tone it's 27 pound less, you can get it on genie stuff for 130 with scope and mounts and then pay a further 5 pound for some krylon spray paint.

For upgrades I recommend aspuk.co.UK, fire-support.co.uk, and airsoftworld.net.

Darcy.

For uk purchasers my suggestion is always Taiwan gun. There are actual based in Poland so you wont pay import tax. Plus they were £74 so way under yout budget.

Edit: Just checked and they dont have one in. Secind suggestion, look arpund the forums and find one secondhand.

Trust me I'm no pro, only just got my vsr, I'm just going by the 4 months research I did before diving into this role. I've been running aegs for a while now and decided something different. The only thing pro about me is the vsr itself 😜

If you have the money, order the Tokyo Marui from zero one, that way there's no waiting around for delivery and no unexpected charges. another pro of the tm is its almost guaranteed to work out the box, I've heard no complaints about one not working out the box from anyone at the site I play at, and my God they use a lot of TM vsr's.

You could also buy second hand already upgraded or stock. Always a few floating around the UK Facebook groups, if money isn't a major issue then it should be easy to pick one up.

Wolf armouries also has tm vsr pros in stock but not many.

It is a shame to get a tm then upgrade it (albeit not right away), but you can usually shift the parts changed fairly easily on the fb groups should you need to

The JG version is fine too, and it is widely regarded as the better choice..

Honestly, the only reason to buy a TM is because of the internals. If you're going to upgrade then the internals are replaced and thus is is really nonsense to buy a TM. Sure, you get a fancy stock with a TM stamp on it and the sling mounts are supposedly of better quality, but I don't think those things are worth an extra $200.

Use those $200 on upgrade parts and you'll have a far more solid rifle than a stock TM will ever be.

Oh, and I've never heard of a stock JG not working out of the box either

Don't get me wrong, TM is the better brand and I respect your opinion, but it is not worth $200. Especially as a beginning sniper, you can spend those $200 in a lot more useful ways

In my opinion the internals on both are the same. The only external difference is the stock on the JG has a rubber coating. Also the bolt handle and sling swivels have a better finish on the TM. Apart from that, they are the same.

I also believe there is nothing between the two brands, problem is that sourcing a jg bar 10 in the UK is almost impossible, unless you purchase from oversees which with shipping would put the jg in the same price bracket as the tm version.

The one company that had the jg in stock has been sold out for almost a year and a half now and had it listed at just £20 less than the Tm version, the money you save doesn't warrant going for the JG.
