I am in the market for a decent sniper that I could buy with little upgrading and use casually. I would only need to get a body shot at maximum 150-200 feet. I was looking at a snow wolf m24, and a UTG MK96. I was wondering if those would be good, and if you had any other suggestions?

EDIT: Forgot to mention I would prefer if it was Bolt Action, and would cost under $225 before upgrades.

Well, I definitely wouldn't sell out for under $225, but I wouldn't need upgrades..

The UTG is a good choice, with DIY you can get it shooting pretty nicely.

I think I'll go with the UTG MK96 then. Does anyone know what parts I should look for for compatibility?

Please search on this, there is information EVERYWHERE.

Look for parts designed for the Maruzen type 96, so in laylax terms that means PSS96 (I think) and for PDI, just look it will say, for type 96 or for aps-2/type 96.

would the stock cylinder hold up well? or should i not go with those upgrades(trying to avoid upgrading hop up and cylinder as they are quite pricey...)

If you don't upgrade the hop you shouldn't upgrade anything else.

Yes, it would, but buy the hop unit first.

Also, what scope? Would any scope work with the gun?

Yup. Just about any scope will do, it just comes down to looks and feel.

Just making sure, don't want the rails to be different

They can be out of spec or something, but worst case scenario something needs a little filing.
