Delete posts within a thread

It has just come to my attention that we cannot delete our own posts within a thread.

Is there any specific reason why we are not allowed to do so?

You should be able to do it now. It will be a 'soft' delete, meaning you and other members won't see it anymore, and then the Mods will permanently delete it or 'undelete' it when they see it.
