Recently, i was contemplating making a quick tutorial for you guys on a suppressor. It definately muffles the report of my L96, really taking most of the treble out, so it sounds like a thud. So, would anyone on here want a tutorial, or value one? I just wanna make sure it's cool with everyone, and that someone will actually use it.

BE VERY CAREFULL ABOUT WHAT YOU PUT OT MAKE A SUPPRESOR.... THEY CAN AND HAVE BEEN USED TO FILE SUITS AGAINST PEOPLE BY THE ATF.

Yes it can be done, but I don't want to see anyone in trouble. Trust me it is a pain to get the $200 tax stamp for one already.... going through it right now.

I'm sure that's what he meant. However to backup what Woogie said, the BATFE has been cracking down on Airsoft stuff that could even remotely be used in the RS world. Remember the recent GBBR incident?

Aside from the concerns listed above, I believe it would be very useful. Personally I would benefit from something like that, as the guide on Airsoft Retreat is slightly too complicated for me.

It isn't to hard to to, just think about it and you can figure it out.

There was a group in my area that had this happen to them to be honest. A kid was offering to make them for his friends, and a neighbor or someone saw him out in his yard "testing" the products. His parents are now faced with a $10,000 fine, they were lucky that they didn't have to do jail time.

And yes I know that you were talking about an airsoft suppressor. But in the eyes of the BATF if they are not solid they are illegal. Even if they have foam in them, as long as they will drop the noise by 1db then it is classified as a Class 3 weapon.

Now I know just about all of us have them on our rifles, and have made them. But this really isn't the place to be making a "how to". The forum doesn't need that kind of attention in my eyes.

There are plenty of other places to go and see how it is done. That and there was already one put on here by the founder of the site, so just go off of that and it will give you an idea on how to do it. No need to have everyone putting up there "design" on the forum.

Now I know that is just going to go over a lot of peoples heads, but hey if you get caught don't whine about it. You knew before you made the product what the consequences could be.

^ I agree. While this forum might not get any "attention" that could lead to trouble, no sense risking it. Especially over a little something like this.

But plus 1 to mcxznbv for asking first. ;)

Could someone put an internal suppressor in the barrel. like shorten the inner barrel about an inch and use that space. Then your airsoft gun would be a little more silent, and no one would ask questions. And a lot of .22s have these built in and they're not considered class 3 weapons.

But yeah, since making any type of suppressor is illegal a tutorial really should stay off the forum. Just like any other device or substance that's in the anarchist's cook book.

Yes it is ;) Trust me, been doing alot of research before I went through all the paper work to get my suppressor. Anything that can fit over the barrel of a firearm and can reduce the noise by 1db is considered a suppressor. Now if it fits over the entire barrel, then yes it is still a suppressor. If it goes just at the end, yes still a suppressor.

Please do some research before you say something like that man. I have fired a lot of different weapons with and with out suppressors, both intrigal as well as removable.

Heck if you wanna make one make one... just don't make a step by step. Show the parts mid completed, then completed. And if anyone has questions or anything about the process take it to pm, just to be sure that noone gets into trouble.

Oh, well that my bad sorry.

But, if the suppressor is hidden inside the barrel itself then who would be able to tell if it's suppressed. Airsoft Sniper rifles generally have a large enough cavity in the outer barrel to fit the internals of a airsoft suppressor. And even just drilling a bunch of holes in the last inch of the barrel would allow the air to escape in the inside of the outer barrel and with the pressure change happening inside the barrel it would be almost silent. But I don't get it most of our sniper rifles already whisper so why would a suppressor be even necessary or wanted.

But, all methods for suppressing an airsoft gun should be kept of the forum. I kind of already said it, but it is an important point to keep our forum safe.

True it will work, I have done this a few times to be honest.

I just didn't want any undo attention brought to the site and ruin it for all of us. But yeah there are ways to do it if you know how. All it takes is an understanding of how a suppressor works and how they are made. You then can apply this to your airsoft rifle fairly easy.

I know what you mean man. And it is pretty simple to make one once you have the understanding of how a suppressor works it would be easy to make one for airsoft. I definitely don't want to see any tutorial on the site too.
