Well, I did it. I ordered the M28 tonight.

I've already started planning out the additional parts and changes to the rifle. Of course, a paint job is on top of my list. I find that Krylon works just fine, with the right prep. I put on a few light coats to ensure good coverage. Then, after completing the camouflage, I apply a few coats of a clear coat to even everything out and help protect the final finish. Works pretty well.

Found this review thread started by someone who actually has the rifle. The information looks pretty interesting, with the reviewer noting the same magazine issues as others have reported.

So far, it looks like the M28 is a pretty good out-of-the-box rifle, needing a little TLC with the magazines. The guy makes much of the paint chipping but, come on, don't we all just paint our rifles when they come in? ;)

Interesting to note his FPS with .30's was ranging around 415-420. That's .30's. Nice. Also, from his caliper measurements, the inner barrel is a 6.03. If this is true, the rifle should be a sweet shooter for anyone who takes their time to dial everything in.
