I am sure Ranger is working on other stuff in secrecy.
"Shhhhh" lol..

And the actual biggest problem I saw was the slop in the piston. They wobble too much, they techically messed up the dimentions on it, and I found the solution.. Now if I can just get a more reliable machinist,lol.. I plan to save up as much as I can soI can get my own mini lathe and then I can actually get my ideas out of my head and onto your rifles! Being a mad scientist hurts my brain,hahaha.. especially when I cant make the things I see in my mind...

The piston at Evike doesnt actually fit the M28. Evike is pretty clueless on what they sell. People for the last few years have been buying pistons they say will work, and then have pistons they cant use,lol.. My M28 pistons work, and I make them specifically for the M28. I make them to match the stock sears as well.

I havent had that problem with my M28. I have used 2 Bar10 trigger boxes, and one from the Agm L96. All fit like they were made for it. Could it be he did something wrong? As for the safety has nothing to do with the reciever of the gun, therefore its not to do with the M28. The safety is in the trigger box. So it sounds to me like he didnt do something correct or his trigger box is faulty. There is zero possibility that putting the trigger box on the rifle would make the safety not work.

I have also had my M28 trigger box on my Bar10.

Sounds like either I got lucky over and over again, or something is still wrong with your buddies M28 trigger box. I have had no problems at all swapping out trigger boxes. I do know that the quality control is crap on the M28. I have 3 spring guides, all three are different in size,lol.. I have two stock pistons, both are slightly different in diameter. This could very well be happening with your buddies trigger box. My buddy just bought an m28 from ebay and he will be getting in soon, I will ask if I can inspect his parts. But it may take awhile. Its not getting shipped till friday.

Thanks for your order buddy, I will have it ready to ship out tomorrow morning. What all other parts were you going to get for it "the stuff thats sold out at GI"? I just made an aluminum spring guide last night for the first time. Its a one piece and it was a PAIN! Lol.. Just took way longer than it should,lol..

I already have a better idea for the 2nd one I am going to make, just gotta take a long drive to Alro steel for a 7mm rod. I just dont wanna go drive for about an hour today, its finally about to be bed time "yay" I may make the drive tomorrow or the next. I will post pics of lastnights headache in my pistons thread after I get up in a few hours.

Personally, I use a short stock aeg inner barrel. It was mainly cause I have so many inner barrels laying around,lol.. I also just like short rifles, but I dont think I'd go tighter than a 6.03 cause anything tighter can jam and also requires constant cleaning. But thats just my opinion. I have a 6.03 I was planning on putting in mine soon to see how I like it.

If you wanna just upgrade your trigger parts, check out www.clandestineairsoft.com they have Shs sears WAY cheap! thats what I had in mine before my trigger box broke. The piston sear will need to be cut down some though. They are pretty long and mine was setting on the outside edge of my sear catch on the stock piston and my aluminum piston. Being the sear catch is stainless steel, it will still hold up but its still best to shorten the sear some with a dremel.

If you wanna get creative, there is a lip inside the hopup that stops the inner barrel from moving, you can use a dremel on any aeg inner barrel to make the line so it will fit the inner barrel, or just shave the line out of the hopup. Then when you install your aeg inner barrel, just wrap the bucking with teflon tape and take it down the inner barrel further. Wrap it enough and it wont move around inside the hopup anymore. Now ya can use any inner barrel you want, and save some $$,lol.. I will post pics in here soon, to show what I mean.

As for the mags, they are sold out pretty much all over,haha.. I saw some on ebay lastnight though. I believe they were more expensive than GI has em for.

No, the M28 uses a smaller version of the vsr hopup. I am back building parts again with fresh new ideas for those cylinders. I patched up my personal life, my physical life is fixed etc lol.. I am about to start making pistons and more.

I'm sorry I vanished on everyone but I had more on my plate than I could chew, and too much to explain. New lathe, new ideas, and older and wiser now. The ideas of parts havent stopped, even during my year and a half off. just wait till you see these new cylinders.. Gonna blow your minds!!! I only have one probem... No M28 haha.. I have to locate a cylinder, even if its broken. Also have a reliable fix for those old broken ones.

I did remove it to make it lighter, it was all in my posts about it. I am very tempted to buy the rifle back lol.. I wouldnt be able to for awhile yet. I just bought a lathe, and a few hundred dollars in materials and tools to make parts today. Bought the lathe two days ago. I have just about $10 to my name now hahaha.. But if things go the way I hope, things will be fine. I found a way to make cylinders that are one piece, but welded. That will make it strong, and easier to make. Will find out if I'm right once I get a regular M28 cylinder.

I will also be setting up my website to only sell so many parts, so then I wont get swamped with orders again and get overwhelmed. I was working like 12-18 hours a day last time, and that mixed with having a family, and my back issues just broke me down. Back is good now. Not 100% but I havent touched my cane since July last year.

No more pain killers either.lol..

Welcome back, glad to hear you're doing better. Can't wait to see some of your new ideas.

About the hop up chamber, from what I've seen the hop up chamber design looks very similar to the vsr's, do you think that by lathing down the outside diameter It could be used? The main concern would be the mag placement in the chamber. Specifically I was looking at using the Action Army hop up unit.
No, it wont fit. You would be better off modding a vsr outer barrel to fit the M28 reciever. I have a feeling I could do it, but since I dont have an M28 right now I cant say for certain. Or, putting the M28 outer barrel in a lathe and boring it out till the vsr hopup fits.

I could use a vsr cylinder as I could very easily make an adapter to extend the VSR cylinder length to the m28 length. I think this would also allow for the use of regular vsr pistons (not that it's a problem for me haha...) the downside, which I'm trying to avoid is that I think you actually get more air volume out of the m28 cylinder due to its extra length, which in my book is a slight advantage the m28 has over the vsr. I'm also going to try lathing a new end piece out of aluminum and welding it to the back of the old cylinder...

It would certainly be a lot easier if there were a direct replacement though...
I released this info a year and a half ago haha..

Damn lol.. That sucks!! I had a stainless steel vsr cylinder years back that had pins thru it and it basically just came loose cause the pins made the holes elongate and it was total poo.. haha..

I dont understand why and how these big companies make crap, make it sound legit and sell it.. Then us consumers pay $100 for what we believe to be top notch parts and then they just fall apart like the rest of the low cost parts.

Just pisses me off so bad.

Should still feed, I made a combo rifle mix when my m28 piston died, before I started making pistons. I used the vsr in my m28 stock and the m28 mag fed just fine. I had to mod the stock where the mag seats in and I dont think I did anything else. Its been a few years so I dont recall exactly what all I did. Just get a vsr barrel and make it fit. You dont actually need the barrel to thread into the reciever. It slides in, and the set screw on the top in the rail will hold it. Then take the front screw mount from the m28 barrel and put it on the vsr barrel. All done lol.. Thats another thing I tried too. Then I got my m28 going again and had to change it all back again. I know I posted pics and said what I did to it. I will look and see if I can find it. Would be just before I started my pistons. Gimme a few to look.

I keep saying, you really cannot modify the vsr hopup to fit. You really cannot, cause then the important parts will be all gone. Just bore the m28 barrel in the back. Thats the easiest bet I am sure. I had both rifles at the same time.

I want to have a handful of pistons done before I turn my website back on since I just got everything operational again.
