I've only shot one of the rifles listed in the poll, the SVD. So, that must ofc be my choice. It is a darn good rifle too, very solid feel and good enough performance. I wish I could get a license to buy one!

hard choice but I went with the M200 cheytac.
Is it the M24 or the M40 that's based off the Rem 700

M40A1-5/M24 are the same minus stock... The Rem. 700 is by far the best action. This is just a fact that everyone has to live with.

Only action that I would say COULD possibly be better would be the Old Mauser 10x actions.

Not necessarily true... M40 uses the Remington Short action and the M24 uses the long action, and different barrels I believe. M40's go thru Marine Corps armorers in Quantico, not sure where M24's go...

Can't believe I forgot that part. Thank you for the correction. The M24s are assembled by Remington in New York, correct me if I'm wrong.

The exciting part is most of the old M24's are being converted to 300s for the MSR =)

I go with AW .388 because these Lapua Magnums are Finnish design, straight from our gun factory at Lapua. Also a great and accurate sniper rifle for a bit more hostile and cold weather, such as Finnish winter. Though we have our Sako version through which to push the round through.

P.S. I's .338, not .388.

My favorite sniper rifle isn't up there.... the 10/22. And YES it is being used as a "sniper" classed rifle. Heck .22lr's have been used as a precision rifle for many years

Tough choices

I'm torn between the R700 and the barret .50. I'd have to go with the barret, it's just a bad ass gun that gets the job done with a punch.
