My first attempt at a ghillie suit. Instead of using the traditional netting method I decided to try something different instead. What I did was I ran stitches straight across the backside of the bdu using 20 lbs fishing line, as I think that is strong enough to hold the suit together. I started from the bottom so the jute wont be in my way It may not seem like it but i'm already on my third row and so far it looks like its coming along pretty good as I cant find the knots from the previous row. On the sleeve area I decided to do the overhand knot, so that one half would be covering the back while the other half will be covering the front of the sleeve. I've decided to finish it off using the jute's natural color, and then spray paint it afterwards using stripes going across. Then after spray painting it i'm going to manually mix up the jute to get that off set look and break up the stripes to have green and tan mixed up.
Let me know what you guys think about the process or if you have any advice.
