I found this for those of us that might have ideas but not the means in one form or another. They do custom fab, only down side is you have to write in their program, so there is a little more guess work involved vs. using solidworks where you can simulate and plug in standard parts.

Interesting.....
My bet is it is pretty costly. I would rather find someone around myself or on the interwebs, so I can write it in my program of choice, be it SolidWorks or Cocktail Napkin

Yeah, their prices didn't seem too bad. I know most of the local shops around me can get a little pricy, mainly because their time for walk in projects is pretty scarce.

I tend to use a lot of scratch paper and napkins... there are piles of ripped up paper in my place, if nothing else it drives the woman crazy

The reason it can get so pricey is because of the tooling. For example a single end mill bit costs anywhere from 10USD to 150USD or even more and most (if not all) of that cost will come out of your pocket.

The tooling and the machines itself can get really costly.


What parts were you wanting made? There are a few of us on here that have said tooling, and are usually more than willing to help out.

bob, let me know if you figure out how to do reinforced ASR mags (either metal feeding post or all metal?)
