I placed 5 washers behind the spring guide shortening the spring (or I think this is called pre-loading?) I haven't found any info on this type of mod. I have a chrono that is super consistent and it read 10-12 higher per washer. Went from 440-446 to 488-490. Anyone tried this? I use a Lancer Tactical M82

So i'll add photos soon.

Current upgrades:
Prometheus 6.03 barrel
upgraded piston for SVD
m140 spring for SVD (ordered from airlift proz in CZ)
upgraded hop up chamber with adjustable spinny thingy
several different buckings still trying to find one that works best

I can hit a 1ft target 175 ft 8 out of 10 times and a man side target at 200 ish but my range suffers since the stock FPS is 445 with .2 and I use .32 so its closer to 365. This is why I wanted to upgrade the FPS to see if I can get some range. Accuracy is really good with the barrel upgrade and heavier BBs. I have not tested the new FPS yet as I just moved and I don't really have a range figured out yet where I live.

yeah... that's called "putting some spacers behind your spring" and it's been done since the dawn of time. And pretty much the standard procedure when your spring sets down overtime, or when you install a new spring that falls a little short of your desired FPS.
It's OK as long as your piston can still travel far back enough to engage the sear.

It also presents the very same durability issues as running a higher power spring would, and is harder to pull than what an appropriate, full length spring would.

About the buckings, try a flat bucking (a regular bucking modded via the removal of the internal mound) and use a H nub, it's usually one of the best setups for AEG type chambers.

So... you placed the washers behind the spring guide? Interesting, as you can't do that in most BASR's. The concept does exist from long ago as Dimitri said though, and some companies like PDI even sell spring spacers for this purpose, but they usually go over the spring guide or inside the piston, compressing the spring but not changing the position of anything else.
