I was recently wondering how many Mile per hour airsoft guns can shoot so I did some math and...

1 fps=0.681 MPH

so...

300 Feet per Second = 204.545 Miles per Hour
400 Feet per Second = 272.727 Miles per Hour
500 Feet per Second = 340.909 Miles per Hour
600 Feet per Second = 409.090 Miles per Hour
700 Feet per Second = 477.272 Miles per Hour

Think about that! 300 fps is almost DOUBLE of what most cars can travel!

There is no major point to this post, I just wanted to give you guys an idea of how fast your muzzle velocity is.

Suprising isn't it.. ;)

For those that don't know how he came to that... 1 mile is 5,280 feet... so from there you can figure it quite easily.

Now take that same formula that you have and take it with your .308 round ;)

Always a good idea to shock some reality into us gun-toting yahoos. Even if there's not a specific point to the post, that doesn't mean it doesn't have a purpose. ;)

Really puts things into perspective doesn't it?

I have told people this that try to do the sniper role and think they can shoot people at under 20 feet.. That and puts a new look on those little springs that we all put into our rifles
