Well ive been airsofting for some good 2 years now and i decided to go sniper. Mainly because i like long range target shooting. i served in the military and i used this kind of rifle(l96a1). But as we all know airsoft is a diffrent story. So i would like to know what you guys think about g&g g960 is it any good for long distances . And how it can be upgraded and what parts to use. Thank you.

I'll just help you some and say don't get it unless you plan on dishing an extra $500 to make it good (not great).

An M700 is better, but still needs work. If you want an M700, I suggest the Kjw M700 as it takes some vsr parts.

Okay. I will try to get the kjw m700. Vsr hop up and propane kit on my back. I saw HPA /co2 kits but unfortanly its too expensive for me. I will try to make propane tank on my back with a regulator to give me about 150 psi(we are not limited on the fps just the engaging distance) what 0.66 bbs would you recomend?

I would encourage you to spend a bit more time researching these things before proceeding with your current plan.

0.66g BBs require a purpose built gun to use. You will not achieve the backspin required to lift the BB's from the hop and the fairly fixed volume of a manual release valve system utilizing propane will be insufficient to shoot a BB of that weight. The results will be highly disappointing. Stick to the standard 0.43g for heavy weights.

Propane is not a good choice for a regulated system. You would need to keep the propane source heated to 90+ degrees in order to achieve 150psi. I don't recommend heating a propane container either . . . just bad news that can go kaboom.

Not adhering to some sort of output limit is also a recipe for getting someone hurt. 2.80J (550fps with a 0.20g) is the extent of what you will find players discussing on this board for a reason.

Lastly, you skipped over Wolfgeorge's request that you make an intro post. We actually read these to gain a baseline of a players experience level both on the field and in the workshop. Typically you will find the members of this board much more willing to help and contribute to your build after introducing yourself.

.... There is a section for that, its New Member Introductions & Tips, New Member Introductions & Tips - Airsoft Sniper Forum

While I admire you wanting to use .66 bbs, have you actually looked for them? I have only seen 4 people selling them. Airsoft Atlanta, BBBastard, careful, and someone mentioned someone selling on Airsoft Mechanics I think. Airsoft Atlanta has 40 .66 bbs for sale for $16USD. Why spend $16 for 40 .66s when you can spend $22 and get 2000 .43s?

As for the part about a purpose built gun, not entirely true, but pretty close. You will need a top tier performing rifle to get the most out of the .66s. With airsoft being limited in your area, I advise forgetting about the .66s.

HPA/CO2 is strongly recommended for most cases. It's a flat out requirement for using .66s. No ifs ands or buts about it. It is, period.

I would suggest the KJW over the G&G simply because the KJW can utilize more aftermarket parts over the G&G and all of its proprietary weasel snot.

As a forum rule we (generally) never talk about powering rifles past 550fps, as it is against forum rules and generally deemed "unsafe."
