I'm going to get this in the near future.

What upgrades and tweaks do you all recomend that will not break the bank and make this an effective rifle for specifically recon.

so I'd recommend upgrading to a complete gun to screw the flash hider to.

which G&G M14 model? For RECON, the Socom 16 is a better option in my opinion.

G&G's are well built stock.

Like explosive said , SOC for recce work long for DMing, though I have been known to use my long for recce, if theres a chance I might be called on to snipe at the end of it, after all its only an extra 6" to worry about

The M14 you linked to will need no upgrades as it looks like it comes with all the internals you get with a 'veteran' other than the walnut stock.

And no you wont loose much accuracy over the long as there is only about 2" difference in inner barrel length.
