So I decided to make a ghillie cloak instead of a suit. My thinking being it will be cooler, protect me from thorn bushes, and fit over my armor.
I went to our local thrift store and found three pairs of cargo pants, a scarf, and three cammo shirts, - and one large green shirt.
I cut up the cargo pants to make the shoulder drape, and front panels. I left the pockets available for use. The third pants were faded marpat in a teensize. The legs were perfect length for optional arm armor. Worn as cloak the available sleeves just drape. I even recycled the rear Marpat pockets on to the front drape.
The hood was made of a large green TShirt, and I attached a see thru brown veil. Veil can be cast back as a hood liner, or over the face- scope.
Once I cuffed the edges, fit it,and got it together, I added buckles under the arms, and mid chest and throat.
I then started cutting up the cammo tshirts to use as disruption pattern. I tied long strips on the belt loops, button holes, buckles, and other places where they could be tied.
I have been hand sewing on the disruption pattern pieces, and will be done tonight. Completed pics tomorrow.
$14 in used clothes +6 hours a sewing machine, and some scissors... Assassins creed realness.
It looks amazing with the disruption scraps sewn on.
