VT meaning veteran. No, I started maybe a year ago. I first had an MP5, but was bored and wanted something more unique. So I chose sniping. Knowing me, always trying to find a bargain, got the ghillie suit and the Type 96 for $300. I was about to buy a Type 96 on eBay and it came with a 12x scope. I was going to pay $280 something for it but someone beat me by 2 seconds, not joking. I'm actually glad I didn't win that because then I would have to buy a ghillie suit from Cheaperthandirt, which would've cost me about $370. Yes, a good bargain. For those who are thinking, is that rifle a clone, well, it's not. I'm not like that, clones, from what I've learned through experince, can be a pain in the butt.
I am 14, I live in Georgia, and hope to become a fighter pilot in the USAF or become a sniper in the USMC.
I don't like kids who think they can become a sniper and think they can be just like the guy on Shooter or in Saving Pvt. Ryan. Uuuuuum....no. I think airsoft is nothing close to that. I knew that there would be a lot of limitations of being an airsoft sniper.
Thanks for the welcome!

I hope to meet more of y'all on this forum.

Finally, a new person to these boards that has the right idea.

Good luck in your en devour of becoming an airsoft sniper, it's one of the most demanding roles in airsoft.

Well, here is how a prone shooting stance should look like (Please excuse the shitty paint drawing):

Arms: Not propped on elbows, correct this with a bipod or a fallen log or something sturdy, also. Your left arm (Support arm) should be back by your stock for precision

Legs: Spread outword, not with toe in dirt, but with inner souls on the dirt

This picture is a birdeye view, and crappily made, but it gives you some insight on what it should be like.

Thanks man!
I was going to get the bipod specifically made for the Maruzen Type 96 but it was friggen $80. I know that there are other bipods you can get, but I'd like a strong, reliable one for a lower price. If there isn't, then I'll just wait 'till I get more money and buy that one, which fits, and clicks into the stock of the gun.
Thanks for the advice!

Thats exactly what I did. Go out to a Gander Mountain or Dunhams or any sports/hunting store and get yourself a Harris style Bipod and a swivel mount that has a bolt/nut and washer instead of the usualy "Screw into Wood" type threaded ones. They usually sell them in packs of three. 2 are made for wooden stocks but they will have 1 that contains the bolt/nut ones for those with synthetic stocks.

Then take your stock off, find out where you wanna placethe hole and trill a tiny hole in it. I made mine small and sanded it a little till it fit. Then I used Epoxy to make sure that S.o.B wasnt going anywhere.

It worked. To bad when I slid on knees to get a knife kill (which I got) a log tore the spring off one of the legs on my bipod off. Thats what happens when a 230lb, 6' 1', 17 year old slides on his knees next to a fallen tree. But I can replace it thanks to local hardware stores.

Most Harris replicas fare decent in price. My cost 48$. Its a Haris model that goes from 6-9inches and the swivel mounts will only cost you 3-4$.

Also, make sure that it sits low enough to the ground that you'll remain a low profile but high enough that you can still take body shots at targets 10 yards out, the average good length is between 4-6" for this. Anything more and you've just got one long bipod.

Nah, I've changed my mind. Drilling into my gun just doesn't sound very encouraging, so I'm just going to buy the normal Ball Joint Bipod that fits right in the front and clicks , it will stay. I'm trying to have a good durable gun, and I don't have the time nor the money for repairs. On DEN it's $61, so that's good.

Same exact thing for me, Most people said I was a leaves and grass or just a bush. But one guy was like "You planning on killin' someone soon?". So that made me laugh. A few asked if I was going hunting, to which I had to respond "Only people hunting".

My jacket is 5 years old in that picture and the pants were not used as on that moment. I'll get Some updated pictures up soon. Maybe some field pictures. I also build suits for a little cash on the side if anyone is interested. I'm working on one now for a guy in the national guard and I'll put pictures up when its done also, If you'd like.

That is flectarn with canvas on it. I will eventually put nylon on the jacket just like my pants. If anyone wants it, I'll make a guide for the way I make my suits; it is gathered information from current military and ex-snipers i've talked to with a few of my adaptations. I guarantee you will not find anything better that costs under a grand!

The reason I like nylon is because it slides much better and lasts longer, however it can shine a little, that is why it is painted. Nylon is a little costly though.

Here is the best picture I can get of my current gear, not yet broken in or completed being recolored from fall to winter.
