Hey guys, I found myself coming back after some really bad experience as assault, support, and that stuff. So, I need help getting a new rifle. I'm leaning towards gas but don't know much about them. If you can help me out it would be greatly appreciated.
In the past I have had a JG bar-10, TM l96 AWS, UTG l96, and about 5 DMR's.

If you want gas and don't mind doing some mod work, I recommend the G&G G96. If you want spring, have Cheese Man make you an uber JG BAR (exactly what I'm doing right now ^^).

What's your budget like? You can get a UTG Type 96 to shoot very well with mostly DIY mods and very minimal aftermarket upgrades if any.

Except the UTG Mk96 desperately cries for a $150-200 trigger for high FPS :lame:

Them zero triggers.... I've been looking at the G&G G96, just in VA the weather can change rapidly. Or the KJW KC-02.

HPA works even better in the snow. Plus that was Daedalus and he sold that thing because WE didn't come out with Co2 mags.

Propylene is a by-product of toxic alcohols. Do you mean Propane? That is green gas, just minus some lube and perfume.

If you want gas, run an air rig. Even CO2 is fine, heck I run classics on CO2 in Alaska, in the winter, so you should be fine.

Define "high FPS" for me. You can get a stock UTG Type 96 to 500-550 FPS; that's high enough for me.

That is actually true, I get them up to about 520 on stock springs all the time.

Ok, so I guess I'll have to build an HPA rig then. Well I have 6 or 7 months to do it. Wesley even though you can get a UTG Type 96 to 500-550 FPS, the stock trigger box will start to crack and eventually break.

Not if you run the stock spring and reinforce the box with something. I have used anything from tape to copper and epoxy.

Also, you can buy the air rig off Austinwolv on the classics forums, he is a great guy and a great seller.

That would be a good choice also. With an HPA rig and just some hop-up work would make it pretty much maxed out since it comes with all the G&G upgrades. The only problem are the VSR-10 conversion chambers; people usually have problems with them due to the G96's nozzle not being removable.

Actually minus lube and added stench so you can tell if it's leaking. :hehe:

Trigger mech can be got for cheaper than $200 mate. THheres the PDI one for $70
the cheapo metal one for $30 or a replacement plastic one fro $15

Yeah, some people do adapters so they can use a 5 liter gas ''can" to load their gas guns, and when one of those cost like 5e to refill, you get some really cheap gas.

Yeah it was Deadelus. I was just suggesting to keep from having to run an external tank and line.

I actually haven't had an issue with this yet. I'm using the stock nozzle with the conversion kit, and I haven't run an FPS test but it feeds and fires just fine.
