I am very new to airsoft and have took this time in isolation as a time to research good sniper rifles to buy. It seems that the only way to get a "good" sniper rifle is to do upgrades, yet I do not wish to invest loads of money into upgrades nor do I know what I am doing or anyone who does.
Therefore I am looking for a good budget stock sniper rifle that doesn't require any upgrades and will still shoot very well.

The SSG10 is a solid choice. Only other real option out there would be to buying something used off of someone, or an SRS. SSG10 and SRS should shoot pretty similarly.

I considered the SSG10, but it is in very high demand at the moment due to how new it is and i do not know if I am willing to "pre-order" a sniper. the 25 year warranty interests me a ot though.

I'm under the impression that the 25 year warranty is mostly just a marketing gimick. Any really well buily rifle should and will last for many years.

If you don't want to wait on a preorder, you can try and find a used silverback SRS A1.

Otherwise, depending on your budget, you could probably pay someone to build you a decent VSR, or you can try and find a used and upgraded VSR-10.

I don’t really think there will be any good options as good as the ssg10. People want cheap and good performance. That isn’t really a thing unless you get the ssg10 which is basically pre upgraded. If you get a decent sniper rifle out of the box you will still need to do some decent diy mods and maybe some minor hopup upgrades to assist in lifting heavy bbs. If you want cheap and good just order it. Especially if you don’t want to work on it. Other than than get the good old JG Bar10 and dump maybe $250-$300 into it.

You could probably build a good sniper rifle nearly as good as the SSG10 for about the same price, but that's all upgrading yourself.

I’m huge on diy mods BUT from another perspective; You have a cheap gun “built yourself” (all diy modded) and it’s like this contraption rigged with chewing gum, paper clips and pocket lint. Then you have a rifle out of the box that’s all solid parts (no squishy gun) for the same price and it’s solid. The ssg-10. All depends on what you want, what you want to work on, IF you want to work on...

I understand what everyone is saying, about getting the SSG I believe it is the best beginner rifle to get if you are not planning to upgrade. But I don’t want to put money as such as an ssg into airsoft when I do not yet know if I will continue playing for a long time, I want to get a decent cheap stock rifle for a year or so and then I will more than likely get something like an ssg, I looked at the CYMA CM.703 it doesn’t have any upgradeable parts and looks to be a decent rifle, any other opinion is greatly appreciated thank you all so much for responding.

If you can’t put in the cost of an ssg I wouldn’t even waste your time. Gotta pay to play.

If you haven't played any airsoft before, you should get an AEG first! Most aeg's on the market will give you a more reliable, fun start. Sniping is a super niche gameplay style, that really doesn't fit most people. And it costs a lot.

An aeg is always a great thing to have if you just wanna have fun and go to the field. When you're there, make friends with a sniper and borrow their rifle. Make the decision that way.

How can people still recommend Nov's stuff?
I mean, many many people are complaining on the dedicated FB pages about the crappy QC. They may be viable for an experienced player who knows how to tech and fix whatever issue he may face. But in all honesty, I wouldn't recommend them to a beginner.

I second Sodium in getting an AEG as your first gun and borrow a bolt action for a game.
IF you really want to get a bolt action, have a look at 2nd hand ones. Ask for proof (video, dated) of everything in working order. You may actually get a bargain!

Yeah, at current situation the SSG10 doesn't seem to be the way to go. Too many QC problems even until now you probably will be better off getting a CM701 or AAC T11 and start from there.

And yeah if you start fresh better get yourself an AEG first.
