No need to drill, nothing gets destroyed or specifically used for the purpose, you can revert everything to normal in case you want to and you can even use your flashlight with it!

I am sure somebody else must have come across the same idea, but this method is going to be the fastest, non-destructive way of putting a GoPro camera on your rifle/gun RAS.

You're welcome! I feel called upon re-enstating that someone MUST have come to the same idea..however, all I could find were methods that involved drilling and generally destructive methods.

This is so easy that, if you put a longer bolt and you take care of using a plastic, cylindric washer between the goPro and the scope ring (I'll post a bonus video soon), you can even keep your flashlight attached and working!

While I just love OP's idea, there is a company called Inception Designs who have started producing a series of super small, genious GoPro mounts. This is a brand new product aka reason for necro posting in this thread.

And if your long gun lacks rails, no problem, they have a barrel mountable version as well. No more HUGE gopro handlebar mounts that look butt ugly, these are great!

And they're made in USA from superb materials, no china made potmetal crap.

I have a GoPro Hero3 arriving Weds and was thinking about mounting it on an AR15 for some fun footage at the range. I bought it mainly for boating and motorcycling but was wondering if the recoil would hurt these cameras?
