In my heavy modification of the stock to fit an HPA tank, I added some nicks, scrapes, etc. and was wondering how the plastic looks/feels after sanding- it's an oddly smooth, soft, matte texture for plastic, so I'm not sure how it'll handle sanding.

Ugly? Uncomfortable? Clean? Entirely average? What happens if you sand the BAR-10?

I sanded it before painting on mine, sanding looks horrible, removes the texture, but it gives a good base for painting it, so it's OK as long as you paint it afterwards.

If you're not gonna paint it, then I'd leave the finish as it is. The rubberized texture is pretty nice and you're not going to improve things by sanding it or taking it off

I put it in petrol for about half an hour and then rubber it off. Worked quite well.

Pretty much what the others said. I sanded mine down because the rubberized coating was cracking and peeling off. I think I used denatured alcohol and a scotch-bright pad.
Then sanded it. Never got around to painting it as I got my custom body at that point.
