Hello all, This saturday I shall be picking up my first SRS A2/M2 22" with 5 mags, never skirmished and all stock.
I've been using a custom VSR 10 which I built as I learned to tech on it.
Can you guys give me any advice to what I should be doing to the SRS when I first recieve it?
Is there anything on the gun that needs lubing/greasing or instant upgrading straight away?
Any advice would be amazing!

First thing I’d do is clean it and properly lubricate it. I to came from the world of VSR 10s to the SRS. I have a SRS A2 Covert 16inch. After a lot of thought on hop units I went with the FAST hop. It’s really good and a bit less then the Kraken and TNT hops. Maxx has one and I stayed away from it because I listened to the guys on here. I like the performance, price, and option to use AEG barrels. I got mine for $40 at our local shop and it comes with a SRS bucking that’s actually pretty good. Masada makes the Ultimate AEG nub and it works AMAZING in the FAST HopUp. I’m running a Rhoped Lambda 455mm barrel and Modify Baton flat hop bucking and I’m absolutely loving how it shoots. I’m not as tech savvy as a lot of guys are so I’ll just give you what works in my own personal rifle

Sorry I forgot to add some things. You may not want to change your HopUp meaning you personally may not want to change it. I came to the SRS with the same mindset I did every vsr10, upgrade and rebuild the whole thing. It was def the wrong approach for the SRS. Shoot it first then decide if you need to upgrade. The SRS is arguably the best out of box gun in all of airsoft and I think I agree. If you shoot it and your happy with it leave it be. We use the word upgrade alot but in regards to the awesome stock SRS parts a lot of aftermarket parts wouid be a downgrade. I didn’t like the 2 screw adjustment on the stock HopUp and it wasn’t hoping .48s as good as it should so I went with the FAST HopUp and a Rhop barrel, flat hop bucking and the Ultimate AEG nub. I didn’t stop there but I’ll save the rest for another conversation

Thank you for the reply. I torn on the fast hop as I've seen people say they've easily hopped 48's with the stock chamber but I definitely will look into it.

So will any AEG barrel work with the SRS as I have a 450mm ZCI spare.

The thing with fast hop is so you can adjust the hop way easier than the standard hop where you need to adjust both of them and make sure the two screws has the same screw travel to make it the most optimal, leveled hop. Too much hassle, and so fast hop eliminated it.

So there’s 2 awesome options I decided between just last week and I’m loving the results and I’ll pass on something that’s potentially a game changer. There’s a guy on here who makes awesome products I swear by. Your a vsr10 guy have you heard about the Masada 1 piece hoparm for the Action Army HopUp? He just made 1 for the SRS FAST hop!!! Before I get to that I’ll start with what I’m running as we speak. He’s on Etsy as well and he’s got the Ultimate AEG HopUp nub it’s aM Ultimate AEG nub. I’m running it right now with the FAST Hop, Rhoped Lambda 6.01 455mm barrel and Modify Baton Flat hop bucking and I’m beyond impressed!

ZCIs are good barrels especially for the price but it’s one of the gray areas I found myself in because the stock barrel is really good and the question becomes this: is the ZCI better than or equal to the stock barrel? The advantage I see In your ZCI wouid be the extra length and it’s 6.02? The extra length combined with the drop from 6.05 to 6.02 will increase your fps, not but a huge amount and I don’t know exactly but it will increase

I wanted to piggy back off what the one guy said. The stock HopUp is good the reason to replace with the FAST is how you adjust the hop. The stock has those 2 screws and can be a pain the FAST has a rotary dial like on a Maxx HopUp. If you don’t mind the screws you can keep the stock HopUp and get a better nub/arm, barrel, bucking. Something else I forgot about and just ordered myself is the Airtech studio advanced tdc bb tube it’s only $20 and a must have

I assume your going for best possible performance? Id def Rhop it
Since your already going down the Faceless road I’d suggest going all the way. Get his barrel, his Rhop patch, and the bucking! That was my original plan but as a Marine I know no plan survives first contact lol seriously the Faceless parts are amazing and performance? It’s a dragon slayer setup for real!

He does a R-Hop patch for the original SRS barrel, would that do with the nub? I've never Rhop'p before, is it just a case of putting the patch in the hop window and thats that.
