As the title says; I fell over and broke something on the rifle.

The fall: I landed on my backside, and I must have knocked my rifle somewhere because there was some mud on the scope that was not there before.

State of the rifle after the fall:
  • All of my BBs were shooting to the left of the cross hair
  • The screw that connects the receiver and the barrel is now missing (the thread was worn out previously and removal could be achieved with fingers alone, so its purpose was solely to prevent the barrel from twisting. The hole for the screw was oval, so it didn't do the best job of keeping the barrel and receiver aligned; I was relying on the two screws that fasten the stock for alignment.
  • The rifle is still shooting a constant 490 fps on 0.2s give or take 1 or 2 FPS; therefore I am sure the issue is on the font part of the gun
  • The inner barrel still seem straight; I rolled it on a flat service and it looked fine (BTW it was still attached to the hop and spacers when I rolled it)

FYI the rifle is a VSR 10 GSPEC with an AA hop unit and 430mm barrel; the barrel is protruding into the suppressor.

How it fires now:
There seems to be some hop inconsistency; the shot trajectory looks like there is zero hop. It just arcs and falls short at around 30m; before it was flat before a short arc before it falls. Applying more hop just sends it vertical.

I inspected the hop and the arm still goes up and down, but I have noticed one thing: there seems to be some movement on the bit that adjusts the hop arm; I thought the only thing that could move this bit of metal was the turning of the hop adjustment screw. My theory is this part of the hop is broken and the force of the BB my push the hop arm up, and this is why I am getting effect of zero hop and some inconsistency with my shots.

My current thoughts to remedy this issue:
  • replace hop; before I do this I need to be sure that is the problem
  • get a new outer barrel; this might seem overkill just because of the missing screw, but not being able to keep my barrel aligned with that screw has annoyed me for a while now and I am looking for an excuse to buy the AA fluted outer barrel.

This is a little frustrating because I only have 20m in back yard to test this, so I am not sure if I can verify the rifle is shooting correctly without going to a airsoft field.

I assume you completely disassembled the rifle and inspected/cleaned everything. mine was doing something similar and my nub was broken. theres not much to the hop up assembly, the square nut that catched the arm adjuster you can check. the spring and nub still intact?

I took everything apart and everything seems fine. However I think it is possibe that the nub was knocked out of place.

That could cause uneven pressure and inconsistencies. Doesnt hurt to clean the batrel and check the and make sure the bucking is still set in the inner barrel correctly. AA has a great seal around the bucking but not hard to check.
