I kept mine the stock tan color with a few green and brown strips added to help darken it a bit. Just add a bunch of veggies in-game and you should be good. I almost never play in a desert environment but if I ever do I don't want to have to make a whole new ghillie for it. You can darken a light ghillie easily but you can never lighten a dark ghillie.
