I haven't been bothering with face paint for a while because first of all, I use an iron face mask with goggles. Second, I found it doesn't do a damn thing for me anyway because i have jute hanging over my face with my ghillie on so my face is completely hidden while I can see out. It's like one of those elastic fabric full head masks people wear so they can see out perfectly but people can't see their face.

Hahahah right!! I was like Oh crap!!?? I cant believe nobody said anything to me.. "Hey you A hole, your beards brown, gray and green!". I dont think the ole lady even noticed, it wasnt really a well lit restaraunt. The bathroom sure was though! I stopped using that oil based paint and started using halloween face paint. Its water based. I found green and brown..
You are supposed to use cold cream to remove the makeup, silly.

When I am on the move I make sure there is no one around, or at least I try to. But either way, the jute covers my face whether I am crawling or going prone. I rarely ever fully stand up during a game.

Dude really? Because everyone got kick ass dental benefits out of nowhere right? Mean is it better to be able to fix a broken tooth, or to never have broken a tooth? Food for thought.

"Dude really" I wasn't saying you shouldn't protect your teeth, I was just curious why people with already broken teeth didn't just get the fake replacements. Sarcasm does not become you, especially when its aimed at someone whos trying to help.

I got my teeth shot up and I am missing 3 front lower and chunks missing in my front uppers,lol.. I WISH I could afford to do something about it but I cant. No insurance and them fake cosmetic ones cost a good penny. I also think it would cause more trouble in the long run cause the teeth would be covered partially and harder to clean etc. I think it would cause a rot issue faster but I could be wrong. I honstly have looked into them snap on smiles but its sort of expensive. I truly wish I would have been wearing mouth protection that day cause I regret it 10 times a day now.

I wont let my kid play without a mouth guard now though! He can cry and whine and plead all he wants, no guard, no play!

The most rediculous part about this is, my dad makes dentures!!!! He said he'd hook me up after I get these pulled but still.... I cant afford to. I even debated hitting em with something to finish the process.

I will definitely have to try that. How much water do you mix with it? And how much newspaper do you burn to mix with the water?
Generally one newspaper is enough. Put in enough water to make it watery enough to stick to your face but not thick enough to fall off.

Oh oh! I got this one. Trick a stranger into fighting you, and when he knocks him out, he will be liable.

As long as we are taking about how one covers one's face in the field. One thing I have taken to is adding small pieces of sniper veil and netting sewn into the hood.

In addition to that, I also tack in a mosquito/no-see-em net/mask to the top of the hood. Murphy's Law dictates: When you find a perfect hiding spot, some flying creature is bound to attack. I merely reach up into my hood and pull the protection down, and watch the mosquitoes try and find an entry spot. This way, I always have a veil, and a mosquito net available.

Anyway, just a thought.

Face coverage (more protection than anything else) seems largely to be a double-edged sword. On the one hand, this is airsoft and protection has to be one of the most important parts, but often protection comes at a cost.

I usually wore a black bear mesh mask which offers probably the best face protection available. However, I have found it's shape makes it hard to sight my rifle and it's uncomfortable as heck!
Alternatively I would wear just a shemagh because that is extremely comfortable and there are no sighting issues, but I am conscious of the safety it offers. I once got shot straight in the face with an underbarrel m203, and if I hadn't been wearing my black bear, I could have lost all my teeth.
Now, in hindsight, that was probably a once off but even normal bb shots to the face make me uneasy and I don't know if I want to take the risk. I'd appreciate any input!

(P.S. If you guys think I'm being paranoid, please tell me! When I first started airsoft I wore no face protection at all. I probably still wouldn't if my friends tooth hadn't been shot out by an ACR.)

BBs can definitely knock out teeth , or at least crack them. I once saw a friend accidentally shoot another friendon a tooth and cracked it. This was with a clear spring pistol shooting 200 with .2s from abot 70 feet away. I don't want to start the story telling thing again because that's happened in another thread already, but you aren't being paranoid. Protection is very imprtant. I just use an iron face with more holed drilled in for ventilation and a pair of goggles. It isn't the most comfortable thing in the world but it is easy to see through the scope and I painted it camo for well... camo.

Hey, thanks! I had actually seen them before but never really bothered to check them out. I'm definitely getting one of those now. Probably would look cool in camo.
