Hey guys, so I've done a few searches and I haven't been able to find any helpful or coherently relevant threads, so I thought I'd post it on the general discussion as I'm also not sure as to where else something like this should go-

I'm the owner of a G&G SR25 S.P.R and as I'm about to custom camo it, I want to 'mark' it. This is, naturally, the "FIRE" and "SAFE" indicators, and the caliber markings on the magwell.

AFAIK it's constructed from Magnesium. Do any of you guys know at all how I can go about achieving this? I have absolutely no clue.

Regards

Good news for you. Girlfriend is in engraving and has been for the last 2 years. From what she is away, you can engrave it. Trick would be finding a place that would be willing to machine engrave it for you.

Another suggestion she had was also using metal stamps, to put the F for fire, and S for safe.

just ideas, hope it helps a little bit.

If it's magnesium you should be able to just use something pointy. Obviously, if you want it done better I'd take it to a place that has a laser engraving machine and use that. Some places have lasers that are able to cut and detail polymer sheets - the same laser should work just fine on this.

Excellent. Thanks so far guys.

I'll try and find out where I can get such a place down here, if I can't I'll try my hand at it. I like the idea of stamps Sumta, merely because, well, before you actually do it by hand you expect it to be easy. Just until you realise how crappy it looks due to tiny variations from shaking or whatever. I'll take the receivers apart and try do something on the inside as a tester :)

Thanks Boosted :) Ill definitelynlook at that! Are they easy to control?
At the start they arent, but with a light hand and a little practice, you can do an excellent job. I engraved my nephews nerf gun years ago, i engraved all these power runes that all joined, etc, and painted them all in red so they really stood out.

I have 2 dremels, one is a big one, the other is a little cordless one which is great for engraving, you can hold it like a pen almost.

But yeah with the tiny little engraving tool, she'll rip into almost anything. : )
