I do :)

My spotter roles with a g36 with extended tightbore inner barrel and supressor. He also has a red dot scope that he likes to use. Currently I need to make him a ghillie, as he is not as effective as I (I have one) and really sticks out in some areas. That way we can be an affective sniper team. As of now I have no sidearm, and he really is the only one who can do much at close range. Without him, it would be alot tougher as I would have to watch my back at all times.

Why would you need a new tactic. The spotter is there for alot of reasons. Helping identify targets, provide fire support if needed, and help adjust the sniper's shot, if he misses. Even if your friends know you are spotting for him, that doesn't mean stop. In real life, a sniper has a spotter and I would assume the enemy would know that. But that doesn't change the fact that they are still working together as a team. However, the tactic to stay ten yards away can work. I like to set my spotter up a few yards away, and if I am compromised they sometimes charge and flank me. Little do they know, my spotter is a few yards up, and we have a successful ambush.

I do what you do too. I'll purposely have a teammate get pinned down by a target, and I'll shoot the target from another angle while he thinks hes got the drop on my teammate.

I usually let the enemy get really comfortable when they are approaching me, they let themselves slide out into the open where its just a turkey shoot. Especially if you have a quiet rifle, you can take down about three before they know where its coming from. That is if you can shoot good.

Its all about mind games buddy.
I did the exact same thing with one of my teammates. He set up directly in front of the enemy in a well concealed place. I set up to the right of him at a different angle. When the enemy came down the path, he started firing and the idea was that they would get nice and cozzy behind some trees nearby. That left me with some easy pickings ;) However, it did not go as planned, and the other team just ran away :-/
