How to install PDI Hop-Up in TSD L96?

I was just wondering if anyone could tell me how to install my PDI hop-up unit into my TSD SD96B. A tutorial would be very nice :) Also, I have a 650mm 6.03 barrel and if you could tell me how to install that it would be greatly appreciated.

It is the same as for the UTG mk96 and maruzen l96. Here is a solid guide:

Any other specific questions feel free to post here.
That 650 might be a little too long, I think the stock size on the TSD ones is about 500 mm...

You are going to have to remove the end cap, as the end cap will block the chamber from aligning up correctly. Once the end cap is removed you will be able to install it just fine.

HOWEVER, now you have to get yourself a threaded adapter, and a suppressor to act as a barrel extension. Once you do that, you should be fine, as long as you make a few barrel spacers to keep that barrel from wobbling all over the place.
It'd need a LONG suppressor - that is 155 mm longer than what comes stock in the rifle.
Keep in mind that 155mm is only a bit longer than 6 inches.

An 8 inch suppressor would be fine. Any shorter and it would look slightly funny, any longer and it would just be cumbersome.
Don't worry guys I've already got all that stuff :) I wouldn't buy such a long barrel if I couldn't make it work.
I have a 9-inch......................................................Silencer...oh sorry suppressor. With the UTG/TSD/Well/Others L96 the cylinder volume is only about the size of a 500mm barrel so with the 650mm barrel in your gun will be a lot less accurate the a 450mm-500mm barrel as there isn't enough air to keep the bb cushioned. Look it up yourself as I don't want to go through about ten posts explaining it.
Even with a Teflon cylinder, PolarStar 90 degree piston and an upgraded cylinder head?

Yes. The only thing that matters is the VOLUME of the cylinder. You will need a bore up kit to be able to fit in a 650mm barrel, and you still won't get extra accuracy, just have spent extra money. Use that suppressor as an actual suppressor, not as a near useless barrel extender.
Never go over 500mm unless you have some un-earthly cylinder or you have a real-sword SVD which has a modified gearbox and cylinder to accommodate the huge barrel.
I guess so, except I will see what happens when the hop up is delivered this week.

Sell it as new on ebay or a forum to some noob and then buy a 500mm/455mm one.
Hang on, explain to me again why the 650mm wont work. Having a little trouble understanding.
Grass... I think we need to write up an explanation.

Ok... so the cylinder pushes air into the barrel, and the bb is propelled. Natually, the air starts to escape before the bb does. This is fine, but up to a point. Most say around 500mm. At this cut off, most of the air is out of the barrel, and the bb is unstable, because there is no air "cushioning" it. The bb starts to bounce off the walls in the barrel, leading to less accuracy.

Get it? Tell me what you don't understand...
Installed the PDI Hop-Up and the 650mm 6.03 about 2 hours ago... no problems whatsoever
The grouping is amazing, the gun is whisper quiet, and it is shooting really hard with just the stock spring in. I have been tinkering with the hop-up for the past hour and I think I almost have it :)

I don't have finals tomorrow so I am staying home and I should be able to get it shooting perfectly.

You think those groupings are good now? Put in a 500mm barrel and be blown away. Also I am wondering, how is your gun whisper quiet? What modifications did you do to make it like this? Because I remember my l96 being very loud until I modded it myself. Guide below. Also the stock spring is at 450fps so it was already shooting hard.

Also as already said a longer barrel does not make it more accurate.

I am not being a dick I am just pointing out what I feel is coming across from you and questioning it.

Yeah, my gun shoots lightning bolts.
::)

Haha, I'm sure you're exaggerating a wee bit. When I've put in a stronger spring, usually the gun is pretty loud. You can really start to hear the piston head slam and the air "crack" out of the barrel. What mods have you did to make it quiet?

Also, usually when you get a longer barrel, it hurts accuracy more than helps. I've explained this before. It's always nice to be proven wrong though... I'd love to see a side by side comparison. You'll need some evidence to say that your groupings are "amazing". Got a target?

And isn't the stock spring like 450 fps? Or was it pre-upgraded, as I thought before? That isn't that hard, silly ::)

AWAGG!!
:(" title="" border="0"/> You just basically said exactly what I said but you re-worded it! Lol. At least it's two against one. I agree with myself and Awagg. ;) :)

EDIT: yay 301st post.
