This was with tan Madbull 0.40s. True but wouldnt this build up start "caking" on the nub after a while as well as fowling the barrel more than usual?
First time I have heard of this one. Any other players have any exp? Could be one of the reasons they stopped the tan version

Excuse the necro but would coke not pit the bb's? Or is this the point, to get the golfball effect?
I carry the link in my sig and I maintain this thread. No such thing as necro here.

If you leave it in the coke or cleaner to long it will pit. But sometimes that is also how you can id poor quailty bbs.

Why coke then? What benefits does it have over water?
Suger free coke has a high acid content. Coke has more the pepsi.
You want suger free that way your ammo wont turn sticky after rinsing.

The acid helps break down the reagent used during the moulding process.

I am wondering, if this would help with every brand of BBs?

I use .28 King Arms and .28 G&G BBs with every Rifle...
Would it help washing these BBs, because they are the best quality BBs I know, and this weight is great for sniping, better than the .30 and .40 Speedballs/Madbull that I used...

With much greetings

Every little bit helps. Even if they did have 20 Chinese children buffing them as they went down the line. Shipping. On a shelf. Bouncing through shipping 4 more times. That would cause a tumbler effect and make there own dust. That first wash helps.

It looks like this process takes a lot of the coating off, do you have electronic scales to check if the bb's still weigh in at .40g after doing this?
No. I dont have the scale to effectivly messure that small of a change. But at most I could see .01 change.

Maybe I should try using coke or denture cleaner next time I clean my BB's. I usually just let them soak in soapy water for a few hours then drain the water and put the BB's into an old sock hanging in my closet.

I wonder if vinegar(spelling?) mixed with water would work, because that is how I clean my retainers since I keep forgetting to get denture cleaners. Guess I will try that with a very small amount of BB's when I find them.

basis is the same :) get rid of the residue. mild acid helps and sugar is bad.

Like i asked in the other thread.
Why not just use dish soap? Wouldn't a plastic strainer be better for the plastic?

Are there any manufacturers that do wash their bbs before packaging?
What about bb bastards?
I have compared just washing n soapy water to first soaking in Diet Coke and then soaking and washing in soapy water.
I found better results with the Diet Coke than soaking and washing with soapy water.
I also found better results with Diet Coke vs the De-greaser I was using.
