Hey do you need to buy regulator specially for Airsoft, or maybe someone tried to use hardware ones? From hardware stores? If yes could you drop links? Thanks

I would go on eBay or AliExpress and search Polarstar MR regulator, which should be about $30-45. I'd get the kit that comes with the line too.

Buying an ASA, 1/8 pipe nipple, 1/8X1/4 or 3/8 bushing, 8mm QD fittings, air line, and suitable ship regulator would be more expensive than getting the clone i mentioned above. That used to be the move when there was only Ninja, Valken, and Redline, but now that there are so many regulators with some becoming affordable, that is no longer a good way to go.

Some industrial regulators can do the job, just need to check their input and output pressures and make sure they have a high refresh rate.

The ARX-20 is probably the most commonly used one (probably thanks to the Amped line) and the one I've run in our custom WE RPK GBBR for 5 years without any issues whatsoever. Works just fine but requires a SLP tank (tank output must be 300PSI), the output pressure is capped at 120 (which is plenty for no-recoil HPA engines, but a bit tight for GBBRs), and the refresh rate couldn't really keep up with the demand of full-auto fire in this particular build, but then again, should be more than enough for a BASR or a HPA engine, as those need 10x less air than a GBBR.

That being said, I'm 100% with SiliconeSword's point. There's plenty of airsoft regulator clones (or maybe they are just the OEM thing without the expensive airsoft branding?) that are affordable and work really really well. Recently I've upgraded to a PolarStar MRS clone that was just $29 and it allowed me to go up to 145PSI for an awesome kick and RoF and to do full auto mag dumps with outstanding performance.
