So, I have put almost 10,000 rounds through my gun, (from what I've read that's a lot) now I need to upgrade the spring but, I can't seem to find a good thread anywhere that tells me how. I have found a good spring but, I won't buy it until i can figure out what other parts that I should get and how I should install the upgrades. I also need a recommended trigger assembly for it. And just curious what hop-up I should upgrade to.

As well, thanks for those tips. What I found comes with the spring, piston, and piston head. Anywhere you know of I could get the other parts from? Also, are the piston heads and cylinder heads the same thing, just trying to be sure so that I can budget my money correctly. I found out it also comes with a spring guide so that is good.

The cylinder head is the one that is on the end of the cylinder, and the piston head is the one on the end of the piston, which sits in the cylinder.

Yes, it comes with the spring and spring guide, as well as the piston and I'll attempt to figure out that intro post you were talking about.

Check out airsoftatlanta.com for a boat load of parts for your bolties. It is where I do the majority of my part shopping.

I've heard that VSR parts fit it but I don't want to invest if i don't have to. My question is, do they really fit the gun.

The SD 700 is a clone of the VSR. The parts should in fact fit. I believe an older member here (not sure if he still is active) upgraded one using VSR parts. He would be able to confirm it for you.

Any idea where I could go to get that upgraded trigger assembly, I still can't find one but I'll check in the thread.
Also, what is the cheapest trigger assembly you could direct me to. My trigger is already full metal but I am pretty sure it needs to be better than that.

There are plenty of triggers on airsoftatlanta that fit the VSR. There is the laylax and PDI triggers, which despite being more expensive, are totally worth it. I would save up for one of those.

The sears in your SD trigger box are more than likely not just metal, but pot metal. Unless your box shell is sturdy enough to hold up for a longer period of time, new sears would be useless. I put in a new sear in my l96 trigger box, only to see the actual shell break. However, if the SD has a solid shell, and money is tight, go for the sears instead.

EDIT : From what I can tell about the trigger box is that every part is metal. The only iffy part is the trigger itself but I might take it apart. I just don't want to ruin it.

Well, I would if I could find someplace where I will airsoft often, then I would try to get one of those within the next two years, I have almost no money.

As long as the outer shell is metal, that is a plus. If you replace the sears, which is much cheaper, and your outer shell can handle the wear and tear from usage, than you should be good for a while. You see, mine was plastic, so the outer shell gave out on me despite having PDI trigger sear in to increase durability. I did not bother with the piston sear or spring guide stopper seeing as eventually my box would crack.

Basically, see how long your box can hold up in stock form. Once a sear snaps, replace it with a new, higher quality one. There is no need for a new box as long as the old one can hold up. However, its nice knowing you have a really nice box in there that is not going to give out on you.

Thanks, that makes a lot of sense. As well somewhere someone said that heavier BB's go farther. Which doesn't make much sense to me... well thanks for the info. It helps a lot.

It all depends on your rifle's fps and other variables. For instance, a .12 gram bb will not go near as far as a .25bb with a rifle shooting at 300 fps. The .12grams will just fly off in all kinds of directions, while the .25grams will be able to go straighter over a longer distance.

Ok, now that makes it make much more sense. Well, looks like I'm getting some madbulls. So for 500 fps should I use .3g.

I would recommend heavier bbs if you are going with a 500 fps set up. I have always liked the .4s from madbull, but .36s are nice as well. .3s seem to light to me based on your fps set up, but its your choice in the end.

Thanks, I will go with the .36s if my gun really is 500 fps. That is just what the spring says, so I will go with the .3 or .36s depending on that. Thanks for the info. Do you think I should upgrade the barrel, the stock is 6.04 and I read somewhere that the barrel should be 6.03 or 6.04 so just asking your opinion.

Thanks, I'll find a good 6.03, but does anyone know how to take out the barrel? I just don't want to brake it. Also, JBU is JB Unicorn right?

Ok, so no I took it apart and now, the barrel doesn't go all the way in for some reason and it doesn't shoot.

Edit: I fixed it, the orange tip was in the way. And this is why I hate orange tips.
