So I picked up a utg mk96 with 2 mags, bipod, and adapter for 110$ shipped. A little better price then most out there. I have been trying t follow the dummies guide for that gun but was dissapointed to find out that there isnt a open hole into my stock to stuff in the foam i picked up. Must have a newer version where they closed off that section. Kinda dissapointed. Bought a big chunk of foam and have very little space to fill now.If anyone else has this problem and founda way around it let me know please.

But other then that i love the the feel of the rifle. The thumbhole is awesome. There were a few rough spots with its stock being 2 pieces but a little sanding or in my case a little strip of electric tape fixed that. When there is no wind at all, Dead straight accurate. The second theres any wind.... it gets really iffy. Im using .25's because thats all i have at the moment but im sure .3's would help that problem. I have to look around for all those grommits like the DIY upgrade guide says to install. And when im shopping for them im going to look for the little spacer to slide over the spring guide to give it a little more power.

I did open it up and do the teflon tape mod. Is the airbrake mod bad for the mk96? I have only heard of people doing that for the bar10. Any sudgestions or comments on what to do with it would be sweet. I'd like to try all the do it yourself mods before spending outrageous amounts of money on aftermarket upgrades just to make sure im 100% enjoying being a bolt action sniper. It may be hard to pick up my l96 when i can instead pick up my m16 mod0 and cause more damage. Haha.

I have the rifle where the 2 bolts that hold the top reciever to the stock are built in and kinda block that hole that fuzzy is talking about. Like theres no real way i can see getting any foam back there. Ill check it out again but it looks pretty sealed off. Oh and i was referring to the front of te back of the stock. Haha kinda confusing. Its the area where the trigger mech would sit the looking back int the stock were the thumb hole is.

@ fuzzy, I could still open the stock up into two pieces and put it in that way. Just kinda feel too lazy to do that haha. I guess ill look for a guide on how to do it so i dont mess it up.

UPDATE. I Stuffed the crap out of m stock by getting the foam past that little screw i was talking about. The flat head screw driver and a little/a lot of elbow grease got the job done. I also managed to put in the little spring spacer to get the gun shooting a little hotter. Now i definitely need to pick up some .3 gram bb's. No luck finding 9/16th rubber grommets in bulk at lowes. Only packs of 2 for $1. Ill post a pic once i paint it and a field report on how it shoots once i take it out in the first game.
